NXT is seemingly gearing up for a move to Tuesdays.
According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider, the production calendar for WWE lists NXT as taping on Tuesday, April 13.
WWE has not confirmed NXT moving to Tuesdays. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reached out to talent and staff within NXT that noted that their internal talent relations apps show blank schedules for that time period.
NXT talent and staff I've spoken to say that their internal talent relations app show blank schedules for the week after WrestleMania. I would imagine Tuesdays will happen then, but WWE hasn't confirmed. There are different calendars for different departments.— Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com (@SeanRossSapp) March 15, 2021
NXT has been airing Wednesdays on USA Network since September 18, 2019 and has gone head-to-head with AEW Dynamite on TNT for the majority of its run. Prior to its move to USA Network, the show aired Wednesdays on WWE Network.
NXT did run two special Tuesday episodes on September 1 and 8, 2020 due to the NHL Playoffs. The September 1 episode drew 849,000 viewers while the September 8 episode drew 838,000 viewers with both episodes running unopposed to AEW.
The most recent episode of NXT drew 691,000 viewers compared to AEW's 743,000 viewers.
Fightful provides live coverage of NXT every Wednesday beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
Fightful will continue to monitor the story of NXT potentially moving nights as it unfolds.
