Report: WWE Pulled D-Von Dudley From Tribute To The Extreme Show

WWE reportedly forced changes to ECW tribute event.

Battleground Championship Wrestling held its Tribute To The Extreme event on December 17 at the 2300 Arena, paying tribute to Extreme Championship Wrestling. Bully Ray (Bubba Ray Dudley) was in action, taking on Matt Cardona. D-Von Dudley was advertised as being in the corner of Bully's, but was noticeably absent.

According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider, WWE pulled D-Von from the event. D-Von works as a producer and a coach for WWE.

BCW claims WWE sent them a legal letter upset over the show and BCW playing off the ECW intellectual property, which is owned by WWE. BCW also claims that D-Von personally reached out to Triple H to get the decision reversed, but was unsuccessful.

The Dudley Boyz are former eight-time ECW Tag Team Champions.

BCW plans to make Tribute To The Extreme an annual event. The December 17 event was headlined by Rob Van Dam taking on Rhino.
