Report: WWE Pulled Talent From SWE Event Over Aaren Wilde Incident

Reason why WWE pulled talent from SWE event.

According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider, WWE pulled NXT UK talent from Southside Wrestling Entertainment's 9th Anniversary Show due to the Aaren Wilde incident that occurred at Revolution Pro Wrestling.

At RevPro Summer Sizzler on Aug. 30, referee Aaren Wilde was attacked by Josh Bodom & Sha Samuels following their tag team bout against Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis). Bodom & Samuels were reportedly upset that Wilde counted a pinfall earlier than the scheduled finish, leading to the unplanned post-match attack. Wilde officially retired from being a referee due to the injuries suffered during the attack. RevPro conducted an investigation on the attack, confirming the incident was not a work and announcing Samuels would "undertake internal disciplinary" and be under "zero tolerance" moving forward while Bodom was released from the promotion. The incident is important as RevPro will take over operations for SWE following their 9th Anniversary event.

After hearing about the Wilde incident and RevPro taking over SWE, WWE pulled Ligero, Kay Lee Ray, Joseph Connors, Xia Brookside, Ilja Draganov and Saxton Huxley from the event due safety concerns. WWE reportedly didn't want any issue that would cause talent to miss upcoming NXT or NXT UK events. It was initially thought that WWE may have pulled the talent due to the working relationship between RevPro and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

As a make-good for fans, All Elite Wrestling will be sending MJF, Shawn Spears, Cody, and Brandi Rhodes to the Oct. 26 SWE 9th Anniversary show.
