Report: WWE Queen Of The Ring Scheduled For October

WWE is reportedly looking to do a Queen of the Ring tournament.

Wrestling INC reported on July 22 that WWE was planning to hold a Queen of the Ring tournament at some point in 2021. The report noted the "tentative plan is for the event to be a main roster show airing on Peacock."

Andrew Zarian of Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast reports the tournament is currently scheduled to start on the October 8 WWE SmackDown and October 11 WWE Raw.

Zarian goes on to report that WWE is planning to hold the finals in Saudi Arabia on October 21. Zarian previously reported that WWE is planning to return to Saudi Arabia on October 21.

WWE has not confirmed or announced any plans for the Queen of the Ring tournament.

WWE held Evolution, the first-ever all-women's pay-per-view in October 2018, but have not held another Evolution PPV despite many women on the roster publicly pushing for it.

The King of the Ring began in 1985 and was held annually -- skipping 1990 and 1992 -- until 2002 when it was discontinued. It has been brought back over the years, including 2019 when Baron Corbin won the tournament.

Fightful will continue to update fans on plans for the Queen of the Ring tournament as more is known.
