It appears that WWE staff furloughed due to the COVID-19 pandemic may have to wait a little bit longer before going back to work.
According to a report by Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a number of WWE staff members that were furloughed have had their furloughs extended another month to August 28, 2020.
The belief initially was that by the beginning of August, many of the furloughed staff would be able to go back to work. However, as things with the coronavirus continue to be developing, WWE has made the decision to extend these workplace furloughs.
Several WWE producers were let go or furloughed back on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Lance Storm recently tweeted that he was a free agent in wrestling for the first time since 1994. On the other end, Pat Buck, a more recent producer hire, was brought back by the company and was recently used in an angle on Monday Night Raw with Nia Jax.
Fightful will continue to monitor the story and report any and all updates.
