WWE is reportedly beginning the move to its new temporary home in Orlando, Florida.
As was reported previously by Jon Alba, WWE is looking to hold SummerSlam at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. @WrestleVotes on Twitter was the first to hint at the venue selection, adding that all main roster television shows, beginning with the August 21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, will be held from the Amway Center in Orlando.
Jon Alba (via MyNews 13) shared a video on Twitter of WWE?s production trucks loading into the Orlando venue.
According to @WrestleVotes, part of WWE?s new long term residency at the Amway Center, a new interactive experience will be introduced with over 2500 square feet of LED boards where fans will be able to appear live on the show. They will be hosted by WWE Superstars and legends.
Alba goes on to report that a rep from the city of Orlando informed him that WWE has a use agreement with the Amway Center through October 30. No fans will be allowed in the building.
This will be the first WWE event outside of the Performance Center in or Full Sail University since WWE Elimination Chamber in early March.
The last time the Amway Center was used for a WWE event was back in July 2019 for a live event and the last televised show there was in January 2019. The venue also was the home of the 2016 Royal Rumble and 2017's NXT TakeOver: Orlando.
During the August 14 episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Michael Cole confirmed on commentary that WWE will be leaving the Performance Center for the August 21 episode of SmackDown and would go on to say that there will be fan involvement. As of now, WWE has not confirmed the venue.
