AEW presented its latest episode of Dynamite on December 20, 2023.

This week's episode is the special Holiday Bash episode and features appearances by MJF and Samoa Joe. Also, the Continental Classic continues as Jon Moxley does battle with Jay White.

AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash (12/20)

* AEW Continental Classic Gold League: Swerve Strickland def. RUSH

- A video package recaps the Continental Classic Tournament action that took place on AEW Saturday Collision.

- Backstage, Chris Jericho addresses the health of Kenny Omega. He says that he's not sure what he's going to do about the Tag Team Championship opportunity that he had coming up at AEW Worlds End. Jericho says the most important thing is Kenny Omega's health and that once Kenny Omega can return, they will resume their tag team.

* AEW Continental Classic Gold League: Mark Briscoe def. Jay Lethal

- Another video package recaps Maxwell Jacob Friedman getting inducted into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.

- Yet another vignette spotlights Wardlow and his desire to exact vengeance on Maxwell Jacob Friedman. He once again promises to bring The Devil to his knees.

Samoa Joe comes to the ring and says he wants answers in regards to the whole situation with The Devil. MJF comes out, he's noticeably carrying both the AEW World Championship and the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship belt. Max says he doesn't like Joe and he wants to fight him right now. Suddenly, masked henchmen hit the ring, but they are quickly dispatched of. Then, the real henchman for The Devil surround the ring before the lights go out and The Devil appears on the screen to challenge Max to a match for the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championship for next week. Max and Joe accept and they are once again on the same page... For now.

- Renee Paquette interviews Orange Cassidy, Rocky Romero, Kris Statlander, and Trent Beretta. The segment is a setup for Rocky versus Orange Cassidy on Rampage for the International Championship, but Rocky isn't thrilled about fighting his friend.

* Winner faces Toni Storm for AEW Women's World Championship at AEW Worlds End: Riho def. Saraya

- Toni Storm enters the ring to confront her next challenger. Riho delivers the tiger feint kick. Mariah May surprises Riho by hitting her with the championship.

- Tony Schiavone reads a prepared statement from TNT Champion Christian Cage. Cage acknowledges his absence and claims he took Nick Wayne on vacation in the statement. He responds to Adam Copeland's challenge and promises to return on Saturday's edition of AEW Collision.

- In a break from tradition for AEW, the camera cuts backstage where Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Samoa Joe are arguing. Max walks away from him and spots a mask on the floor next to the Mogul Embassy's locker room. Max confronts Prince Nana. This leads to a confrontation with Swerve Strickland. Both address their history with one another. Max says the only reason they haven't run into each other yet here is because there's a pecking order. He accuses Swerve of being The Devil, swerve says he's not The Devil but he will bring him to hell if he keeps waving the title around. Joe breaks up the festivities and takes Max away

* Roderick Strong def. Komander

- After the match, Strong is interviewed by Renee Paquette. He insists that Max is The Devil

- Jim Ross makes his return to call the main event.

* AEW Continental Classic Gold League: Jay White def. Jon Moxley

- Swerve Strickland comes out because it's now clear that he will face both of these men next week. White attacks the injured knee of Moxley.
