This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of IMPACT Wrestling on POP TV! Tonight we have a great show as in our main event EC3, Moose, Alberto El Patron and Johnny Impact square off to see who will go on to challenge Austin Aries, Laurel Van Ness defends her Knockouts Championship against Keira Hogan, The Cult of Lee is in action and be sure to come back here at 8PM EST for all of the action!
Taiji Ishimori & Matt Sydal vs El Hijo de Fantasma & Rohit Raju
Matt and Raju start the match off, Matt in control before he tags Taiji in, but Matt comes right back in and Fantasma tags in and drops both Matt and Taiji for a quick two count as we go to commercial.
Hijo puts Matt in a surfboard stretch before Taiji comes in and knocks Raju off of the apron and breaks up the submission before everyone hits a move, then Taiji counters an attempted DVD by kicking Hijo out of the ring. Taiji hits a triangle moonsault to the outside before Raju and Taiji get back in the ring and Raju hits a spinning straight armbar that Taiji rolls out of and tags Matt in. Matt and Taiji double team Raju for a quick two count that Hijo breaks up, then Hijo comes back and takes both Taiji and Matt out with tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Raju and Hijo double team Matt for a quick two count before Matt drops Raju with a jumping knee and hits Hijo with a frankenteiner before Taiji hits a meteora off of the top that sends Hijo out of the ring. Taiji then hits a lung blower before Matt hits a shooting star press for the pin and the win.
Winner: Taiji Ishimori & Matt Sydal defeat El Hijo de Fantasma & Rohit Raju via pinfall when Matt hits a shooting star press and pins Raju.
-We get a match between Bobby Roode and Austin Aries that you can watch on the Global Wrestling Network.
Cult of Lee vs Tech
Caleb and Monroe start the match off by exchanging wrist locks, then Monroe tags Eugene in, but Caleb tags Lee in and he beats Eugene down and he and Caleb start tagging in and out and keeping Eugene in their corner. Lee tosses Eugene across the ring before playing to the crowd, then Lee and Konley double team Eugene for a near fall. Eugene sends Caleb into Lee before he goes to tag Monroe in, but Caleb knocks him off of the apron before he can. Trevor and Caleb then hit a variation of the Indie Taker for the pin and the win.
Winner: Cult of Lee defeat Tech via pinfall with a variation of the Indie Taker
Knockouts Championship Match
Laurel Van Ness (c) vs Keira Hogan
Keira hits a series of arm drags to start the match before Laurel drops her face first into the top turnbuckle, then smashes her face into the bottom one. Laurel hits a series of snapmares for a quick two count before choking Keira in the ropes and playing to the crowd. Laurel hits a running forearm in the corner before playing to the crowd more, then hits a curb stomp before Keira counters the Unprettier into a roll up for a near fall. Keira hits a diving cross body into a superkick for a near fall, Laurel grabbing the bottom rope at the last second before Laurel whips her into the ropes and hits the Unprettier for the pin and the win.
Winner: Laurel Van Ness retains her Knockouts Championship by defeating Keira Hogan via pinfall with the Unprettier
-After the match Laurel attacks Keira before Allie comes down and runs Laurel off as we go to commercial with Allie holding the belt up.
-We get a video package for how Austin Aries won the Global Championship last week, then a promo by Matt and Taiji, then a promo by oVe as we go to commercial.
-We come back from commercial to another promo by oVe before our next match.
Hania the Huntress vs Amber Nova
Hania immediately hits a Samoan drop before chopping Amber in the corner and tossing her around the ring by her hair. Hania chokes Amber in the ropes and gets a series of quick two counts before arguing with the referee and Amber counters a powerbomb into a sunset flip pin for a near fall. Hania then catches Amber coming in and powerbombs her before hitting a reverse DDT for the pin and the win.
Winner: Hania the Huntress defeats Amber Nova via pinfall with a reverse DDT
-After the match Rosemary attacks Hania and sends her out of the ring as we go to commercial.
Global Championship Number One Contender Match
Alberto and EC3 team up and beat on Moose after taking Johnny out as soon as the match starts before whipping him hard across the ring and bouncing him off of the corner. Johnny comes in and hits Alberto with a series of knees and kicks, then the alliance ends as Alberto and EC3 exchange right hands. Everyone then hits a move before everyone gets back to their feet and exchange strikes as we go to commercial.
Alberto and Moose brawl in the crowd as we come back from commercial, Johnny and EC3 at ringside before Johnny, Alberto and EC3 go out into the crowd and Johnny attacks them with someone's arm braces. Johnny rolls EC3 back into the ring and gets a near fall that Alberto breaks up, then Alberto and EC3 team up on Johnny until Moose comes back in. EC3 hits a One Percenter before Johnny hits a flipping neckbreaker for a near fall, then Alberto sends Johnny off of the top and to the floor before hitting a backstabber to Moose. Alberto then hits a flying armbar that Moose breaks up before Johnny counters a One Percenter into a bridging pin for the win.
Winner: Johnny Impact becomes the new number one contender for Austin Aries' Global Championship by defeating Moose, EC3 and Alberto El Patron by pinning EC3.
