Match By Match Recap

Ryusuke Taguchi & Togi Makabe vs. Syota Umino & Kota Ibushi

The match begins with Ibushi and Makabe battling on the arena floor while Taguchi battles Umino in the ring, Umino misses a drop kick and Taguchi stomps away on him. Ibushi throws Makabe into the barricade a few times, Taguchi drops Umino and he briefly applies a modified ankle lock to him. Taguchi then slams Umino and he stomps away on him some more, Makabe tags in and he cracks Umino with forearm strikes and a slam. Taguchi tags back in and he mauls Umino with strikes in the corner, Makabe tags in again and he cracks Umino with a knee strike to the midsection. Umino recovers and he drops Makabe with a running forearm strike, Ibushi tags in and he attacks Makabe with some kicks.

Makabe and Ibushi get into a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Ibushi eventually drops Makabe before catching him with a standing moonsault. Makabe recovers by catching a charging Ibushi with a power slam, Makabe attacks Ibushi with clotheslines and Ibushi responds by dropping him with a German suplex. Makabe recovers to drop a charging Ibushi with a clothesline, Taguchi tags in and he attacks Ibushi with some hip strikes. Ibushi then takes down Taguchi with a hurricarana before tagging Umino in, Umino catches a cornered Taguchi with a few running back elbow strikes. Umino looks for a Boston crab and Taguchi scrambles to the ropes, Umino catches Taguchi in the Boston crab on his second attempt.

Ibushi hits the ring to nail an interfering Makabe with a missile drop kick, Taguchi then hits Umino with a flying hip attack for a near fall. Taguchi drops kicks Umino in the ankle before applying the ankle lock to get the tap out.

Winners: Ryusuke Taguchi & Togi Makabe

Katsuya Kitamura & Tomoyuki Oka vs. Chaos (Yoshi-Hashi & Tomohiro Ishii)

The match begins with Ishii powering Oka into the ropes, Oka then cracks Ishii with a few forearm strikes to the head. Ishii gets angry and he assaults Oka with some forearm strikes of his own, Ishii kicks away at a downed Oka. Oka gets back up and Ishii drops him with a shoulder tackle, Oka gets angry and he drops Ishii with a shoulder tackle of his own. Ishii corners Oka before attacking him with a plethora of chops, Yoshi-Hashi tags in and he stomps on a downed Oka. Yoshi-Hashi slows things down further by holding Oka in a chin lock, Okastarts fighting back and Ishii hits the ring to assault him with more strikes.

Yoshi-Hashi traps Oka on the top rope before catching him with a drop kick, Yoshi-Hashi misses a charge to the corner and Oka catches him with an avalanche. Ishii hits the ring and Oka drops him with a shoulder tackle, Kitamura tags in and he drops Ishii with a shoulder tackle as well. Kitamura then hits Yoshi-Hashi with a running back elbow strike followed by a suplex, Kitamura follows that up by catching Yoshi-Hashi with a gut wrench suplex for a near fall. Yoshi-Hashi and Kitamura get into a chopping exchange until Kitamura goes down, Yoshi-Hashi applies the Boston crab to Kitamura. Oka breaks up the submission attempt before catching Yoshi-Hashi with a spine buster, Oka and Kitamura start attacking Yoshi-Hashi with some double team moves.

Yoshi-Hashi recovers and he drops Kitamura with a clothesline, Yoshi-Hashi locks Kitamura in the butterfly lock and a tap out follows.

Winners: Chaos (Yoshi-Hashi & Tomohiro Ishii)

Yuji Nagata & Hirai Kawato vs. Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi)

The match begins with Naito dancing around Nagata before tagging Takahashi in, Takahashi distracts Nagata so that Naito can jump him from behind. Nagata recovers and drops a charging Takahashi with a knee strike, Kawato tags in and he double teams Takahashi with Nagata. Kawato then catches Takahashi with a series of forearm strikes, Takahashi recovers and nails a charging Kawato with a back body drop. Takahashi traps Kawato in the corner and he assaults him with strikes, Naito tags in and he nails Kawato with a few slams. Takahashi tags back in and he assaults Kawato wit chops, Takahashi slows things down by holding Kawato in the camel clutch.

Naito tags back in and he mauls Kawato with strikes in the corner, Kawato recovers and drops a charging Naito with a drop kick. Nagata tags in and he nails Naito with a boot to the face, Nagata follows that up by assaulting Naito with a series of kicks. Nagata throws Naito in the corner before nailing him with an exploder suplex for a near fall, Naito fights back by dropping Nagata with a back elbow strike followed by a drop kick. Nagata recovers and nails a charging Naito with an overhead release suplex, Kawato and Takahashi get the tags from their respective partners. Kawato catches a charging Takahashi with a drop kick, Kawato follows that up by nailing Takahashi with a springboard drop kick.

Takahashi gets back up and he levels Kawato with a lariat, Takahashi then locks Kawato in the Boston crab until Nagata breaks it up. Naito and Takahashi then attack Nagata with some double team moves, Naito hits Kawato with an atomic drop so that Takahashi can hit him with a super kick. Takahashi reapplies the Boston crab to Kawato and a tap out follows.

Winners: Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi)

Suzuki-Gun (El Despradao, Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr.) vs. Bullet Club (Chase Owens, Yujiro Takahashi & Bad Luck Fale)

The match begins with an all out brawl breaking out between everybody in the match, Fale grabs Sabre Jr and he tosses him into the barricade. Takahashi gets Taichi in the crowd before beating him with his pimp cane, Desparado and Owens do battle in the ring. Owens briefly drops a kicking Desparado into a split on the ground, Owens then nails Desparado with a rope assisted death valley driver. Fale tags in and Sabre Jr gets the tag as well before locking Fale in a guillotine choke, Sabre Jr then looks for the octopus stretch on Fale. Sabre Jr then goes for a rear naked choke and Fale shakes him off, Fale misses a butt drop and Sabre Jr cracks him with a penalty kick.

Fale recovers and drops a charging Sabre Jr with a shoulder tackle, Takahashi tags in and he catches Sabre Jr with a low drop kick. Sabre Jr recovers by nailing Takahashi with a pele kick to the arm, Takahashi is then triple teamed by the opposition. Taichi gets the legal tag and he kicks Takahashi in the head for a near fall, Fale hits the ring and Taichi attacks him with strikes. Desparado hits the ring and he double teams Fale with Taichi, Bullet Club then assault Taichi with some triple team maneuvers. Takahashi hits Taichi with Pimp Juice for the three count.

Winners: Bullet Club (Chase Owens, Yujiro Takahashi & Bad Luck Fale)

Hiroshi Tanahashi & David Finlay vs. Chaos (Hirooki Goto & Jado)

The match begins with Jado backing Finlay into the ropes before attacking him with chops, Finlay recovers and he hits Jado with some European uppercuts. Goto then attacks Finlay from behind before brawling with Tanahashi on the arena floor, Jado grabs Finlay and rakes his eyes across the top rope. Goto tags in and he works with Jado to hit Finlay with a double shoulder tackle, Goto follows that up by locking Finlay in the single leg crab. Goto releases the hold before attacking Finlay with chops in the corner, Finlay recovers by dropping a charging Goto with a drop kick. Tanahashi tags in and he immediately attacks Goto with forearm strikes, Tanahashi then slams Goto before catching him with a middle rope swanton bomb.

Goto recovers and he drops Tanahashi with a clothesline, Goto follows that up by nailing Tanahashi with a spin kick in the corner. Tanahashi gets back up and he immediately drops Goto with a dragon screw leg whip, Finlay tags in and Goto catches him with a kick to the upper body. Jado tags in and he double teams Finlay with Goto, Jado looks for the rope assisted DDT and Tanahashi stops him from landing it. Goto hits the ring and Tanahashi takes him out with a sling blade, Tanahashi then hits Jado with a dragon screw leg whip before hitting Goto with a suicide dive. Finlay connects witha  stunner of Jado for the three count.

Winners: Hiroshi Tanahashi & David Finlay

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Satoshi Kojima vs. Michael Elgin

The match begins with Elgin and Kojima exchanging shoulder tackles until Elgin goes down, Kojima quickly attacks a downed Elgin with a ton of strikes. Kojima waits for Elgin to get up before dropping him with a neck breaker, Elgin recovers to nail a charging Kojima with a power slam. Elgin slams Kojima before nailing him with a slingshot splash, Elgin picks up Kojima and assaults him with forearm strikes. Kojima tries fighting back and Elgin cracks him with more forearm strikes, Elgin misses a charge into the corner and Kojima mauls him with chops. Kojima then drops Elgin with a running forearm strike and a top rope elbow drop follows, Elgin recovers and catches Kojima with a roaring elbow strike followed by a release German suplex.

Elgin catches a dazed Kojima with a running clothesline in the corner followed by chops, Kojima blocks a suplex from Elgin before nailing him with a DDT. The two battle to the ring apron and Kojima catches Elgin with a DDT on the apron, Kojima goes for a suicide dive and Elgin gets out of the way. Elgin then lands a power bomb on the ring apron against Kojima, Kojima beats the count into the ring and Elgin nails him with a falcon arrow for a near fall. Elgin follows that up by attacking Kojima with some clothesline strikes, Kojima gets angry and drops Elgin with a clothesline of his own. Elgin and Kojima exchange strikes until Elgin drops Kojima with a lariat for a near fall, Elgin then crushes Kojima with an enzaguri.

Kojima recovers and he drops Elgin with a Koji Cutter, Elgin recovers and attacks the injured arm of Kojima. Elgin leaps off the top rope and Kojima catches him in the air with a clothesline, Elgin then catches a charging Kojima with a power bomb followed by a buckle bomb. Kojima briefly revives himself to drop Elgin with a clothesline, Kojima places Elgin on the top rope and Elgin knocks him right down. Kojima meets him back up there and Elgin leaps off the nail him with a sunset flip bomb. Elgin catches Kojima with a sit out power bomb for the three count.

Winner: Michael Elgin

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Tama Tonga vs. Evil

The match begins with Tonga and Evil meeting on the arena floor before brawling with each other, Evil then tosses Tonga into the barricade. Tonga recovers and throws Evil into the ring post, Tonga follows that up by dropping Evil on the top of the barricade. Tonga drags Evil into the crowd and he throws him into a bay door near the wall, Tonga grabs a metal pole after that and he attacks Evil with it. Tonga grabs the referee and he returns to the ring with him, Evil barely beats the count as he gets back in the ring. Tonga then picks up an injured Evil and he simply slams him, Tonga follows that up by nailing Evil with a headbutt.

Tonga traps Evil in the corner before assaulting him with strikes, Tonga then catches Evil with a drop kick in the corner. Evil recovers by dropping a charging Tonga, Evil gets up and he quickly knocks Tonga out of the ring with a clothesline. Evil follows Tonga out of the ring before throwing him into the barricade, Evil then puts a chair on the head of Tonga before throwing him into the ring post. Evil brings Tonga back into the ring to nail him with a fisherman buster suplex for a near fall, Evil then locks Tonga in the Banshee Muzzle and Tonga escapes. Evil makes him pay for escaping by nailing him with a side kick to the midsection, Tonga gets back in the match by nailing Evil with an Alabama slam.

Evil recovers and he drops a running Tonga with a lariat, Evil then hits Tonga with a modified sit out power bomb for a near fall. Tonga catches Evil with a superman punch followed by a leaping DDT for a near fall, Evil nails Tonga with an STO after a series of reversals to get the three count.

Winner: Evil

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Juice Robinson vs. Minoru Suzuki

The match begins with Suzuki jumping Robinson before the bell rang and throwing him out of the ring, Suzuki then proceeds to throw Robinson into the barricade. Robinson recovers and he throws Suzuki into the barricade, El Desparado tries interfering and Robinson throws him into the barricade as well. Robinson throws Suzuki back into the ring and lands a senton bomb for a near fall, Suzuki rolls to the ring apron and he traps Robinson in the ropes while using a knee bar. Suzuki drags Robinson back out of the ring and into the crowd, Suzuki then proceeds to toss Robinson into the chairs in the crowd. Suzuki also attacks the injured knee of Robinson with a barricade piece and a chair, Suzuki goes back in the ring and Robinson eventually makes it back in there as well.

Suzuki tosses Robinson back out of the ring before attacking him with a chair, Robinson follows Suzuki back into the ring and Suzuki attacks him with kicks. Robinson gets back and he attacks Suzuki with some chops, Suzuki returns fire and a striking exchange breaks out. Robinson then pops Suzuki with his patented jabs, Robinson also catches Suzuki with a spine buster. Suzuki rolls to the corner and Robinson nails him with the avalanche, Robinson drags Suzuki out of the corner to land a back suplex for a near fall. Robinson looks for a suplex and Suzuki escapes to lock him in a knee bar, Suzuki transitions into an ankle lock against Robinson. Robinson eventually gets to the ropes to break the submission, Robinson gets up and he gets into another striking exchange with Suzuki.

Robinson eventually drops a charging Suzuki with a clothesline, Suzuki goes for the sleeper hold and Robinson reverses into a Pulp Friction attempt. Suzuki escapes and Robinson clocks him with a left. Suzuki gets angry and he drops Robinson with a right before applying a sleeper hold, Suzuki nails Robinson with a Gotch style pile driver for the three count.

Winner: Minoru Suzuki

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Toru Yano vs. Kenny Omega

The match begins with Yano offering Omega a free copy of his DVD, Omega takes the DVD and opens it. There is powder in the case and Yano knocks it into the eyes of Omega before rolling him up for a near fall, Yano then low blows Omega before rolling him up for a near fall. Yano then removes the turnbuckle pad from all the corners of the ring, Omega and Yano try throwing each other into the corner until Omega crashes into one, Omega and Yano both pull on each others hair multiple times. Omega then finds a way to throw Yano into the exposed corner, Yano rolls out of the ring to avoid the V-Trigger and Omega follows him out there.

Yano finds a bucket under the ring and he hits Omega with it, Yano also finds some tape and he tapes the legs of Omega together. Omega and Yano brawl for a short time until Omega ties Yano’s legs together with the tape, Omega and Yano get back into the ring with their legs tied up. Yano and Omega have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Omega eventually drops Yano with a shoulder tackle. Omega follows that up by catching Yano with a double stomp, Omega then nails Yano with a snap dragon suplex. Omega is able to get a pair of scissors and cut the tape off of his legs, Yano steals the scissors and Omega drops him for a near fall.

Yano rolls out of the ring and Omega nails him with a V Trigger that knocks him upside down on the outside of the ring, Yano is unable to get back in the ring and the referee counts him out.

Winner: Kenny Omega, by count out

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Kazuchika Okada vs. Sanada

The match begins with Sanada taking down Okada as the two do a little chain wrestling, Okada backs Sanada into the ropes before attacking him with strikes. Okada follows that up by dropping Sanada with a shoulder tackle, Okada places Sanada on the middle rope and Sanada kicks him before leaping off. Sanada grabs his knee while writhing away in pain as he lands, Sanada tricks Okada and tosses him out of the ring. Sanada follows Okada out of the ring so he can throw him into the barricade, Sanada tosses Okada back into the ring and he chokes him with his shirt. Sanada traps Okada in the corner before nailing him with a running back elbow strike, Sanada slows things down by holding Okada in a chin lock.

Sanada releases the hold to nail Okada with an elbow drop, Sanada then decides to reapply the chin lock to Okada. Okada gets free and he eventually ends a series of holds by dropping Sanada with a neck breaker, Okada drops Sanada a few times again before nailing him with a running back elbow strike. Okada then crushes Sanada with a leaping European uppercut for a near fall, Sanada recovers and he knocks Okada to the arena floor. Okada recovers and propels a charging Sanada into the crowd, Okada then dives over the barricade and onto Sanada. Okada eventually drags Sanada back into the ring, Sanada then kicks the middle rope into the balls of Okada as he returned to the ring.

Sanada then locks Okada in a paradise lock and Okada quickly escapes, Sanada drops Okada with a hurricarana and locks him in the paradise lock again before landing a drop kick. Okada recovers and he drops a charging Sanada with a flapjack, Sanada and Okada have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Okada ends the exchange by catching Sanada with a modified neck breaker, Okada follows that up by nailing Sanada with a top rope elbow drop. Sanada escapes a tombstone pile driver to nail Okada with a springboard drop kick, Sanada then hits Okada with a TKO for a near fall. Okada gets back up and he nails Sanada with a few strikes in the corner, Sanada starts going for the Cold Skull and Okada breaks free.

Sanada then drops a charging Okada and he catches him with a drop kick after that, Sanada then catches Okada with a reverse suplex for a near fall. Sanada goes for the moonsault and lands on his feet as Okada got out of the way, Sanada then catches Okada with a Cold Skull in the turnbuckle. Okada escapes and he nails Sanada with a tombstone pile driver, Okada follows that up by nailing an incoming Sanada with a drop kick. Okada goes for the Rainmaker and Sanada avoids it to hit him with a tombstone pile driver, Sanada then locks Okada in the Cold Skull and Okada eventually makes it to the ropes to break the hold. Sanada gets up and he crushes Okada with a moonsault and he reapplies the Cold Skull, Okada escapes and he levels Sanada with a Rainmaker.

Okada continues the attack on a downed Sanada, Okada eventually catches Sanada with a German suplex and another Rainmaker for the three count.
