Match By Match Recap

(Note: My internet connection died during the opening match and I am unable to provide play-by-play for that match, a quick results was provided for the match. I apologize for the inconvenience and full live coverage will continue with match two.)

Ryusuke Taguchi & Togi Makabe vs. Yuji Nagata & Hirai Kawato

The match begins with Makabe and Nagata taking turns working over the others arm, Makabe and Nagata then get into a striking exchange until Nagata goes down. Taguchi tags in and Kawato gets himself tagged in as well, Kawato drops a charging Taguchi a few times with arm drags. Taguchi quickly recovers and he nails Kawato with a few hip attacks, Makabe tags back in and he knocks Nagata off the ring apron. Makabe then proceeds to slam Kawato a few times, Kawato recovers and drops a charging Makabe with a drop kick. Nagata tags back in and he attacks Makabe with a series of kicks, Nagata follows those up by catching a cornered Makabe with a boot to the face.

Nagata and Makabe have another striking exchange until they both go down, Nagata then nails Makabe with an exploder suplex. Makabe gets right back up and he drops Nagata with a clothesline, Taguchi tags in and he nails Nagata with a few hip attacks. Nagata drops Taguchi and he tags Kawato into the match, Kawato quickly drops Taguchi with a few drop kicks for a near fall. Kawato would then lock Taguchi in the Boston crab until Makabe breaks it up, Makabe and Nagata brawl with each other on the arena floor. Taguchi catches Kawato in the ankle lock and Kawato escapes, Taguchi reapplies the ankle lock and Kawato taps out.

Winners: Ryusuke Taguchi & Togi Makabe

Kota Ibushi, Katsuya Kitamura & Tomoyuki Oka vs. Bullet Club (Chase Owens, Yujiro Takahashi & Bad Luck Fale)

The match begins with Ibushi attacking a swinging Fale with a few strikes, Ibushi eventually drops Fale before catching him with a standing moonsault. Takahashi and Kitamura get the tag from their respective partners, Owens jumps Kitamura from behind to give Takahashi the advantage. Kitamura recovers to drop Takahashi and Owens with a double clothesline, Takahashi and Owens recover to catch Kitamura with some double team moves. Fale and Ibushi start brawling with each other on the arena floor, Owens tags in and he works over Kitamura in the corner. Takahashi tags back in and he continues attacking Kitamura in the corner, Takahashi drops Kitamura before catching him with a running leg drop.

Fale tags back in and he slams Kitamura before catching him with a butt drop, Owens gets the tag and he catches Kitamura with a top rope fist drop. Owens follows that up by attacking Kitamura with a few forearm strikes, Kitamura recovers and drops Owens with a flapjack. Oka tags in and he cleans house on the opposition, Oka also catches a charging Owens with a belly to belly suplex. Oka locks Owens in the Boston crab until Takahashi breaks it up, Owens recovers and drops Oka with a neck breaker. Bullet Club then attack Oka with some triple team moves for a near fall, Owens goes for a package pile driver on Oka until Ibushi breaks it up with a springboard drop kick. Owens recovers and drops a charging Oka with a super kick, Owens nails Oka with a package pile driver for the three count.

Winners: Bullet Club (Chase Owens, Yujiro Takahashi & Bad Luck Fale)

Chaos (Tomohiro Ishii & Gedo) vs. Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Naito & Bushi)

The match begins with Naito nailing Ishii with a kick to the gut followed by a plethora of strikes, Ishii quickly starts firing back against Naito. Ishii then drops Naito with a series of shoulder tackles, Ishii and Naito also go through a series of reversals with nobody getting a clear advantage. Bushi and Gedo get the tags from their respective partners, Gedo puts the referee in front of a striking Bushi so hecan jump him. Naito interferes by tripping up Gedo so Bushi can catch him with a drop kick, Bushi takes off his shirt and he chokes Gedo with it. Naito tags in and he attacks the beard of Gedo, Naito would then drop Gedo with a neck breaker for a near fall.

Bushi tags back in and he double teams Gedo alongside Naito for a near fall, Ishii hits the ring and he gets double teamed by the opposition. Ishii eventually drops both members of the opposing team so Gedo can take advantage, Gedo catches Bushi with a jaw breaker. Bushi then escapes to the top rope and Gedo crotches him, Naito hits the ring and Ishii levels him with a lariat.Bushi catches Gedo with a roll up out of nowhere for the three count.

Winners: Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Naito & Bushi)

David Finlay & Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Choas (Yoshi-Hashi & Hirooki Goto)

The match begins with Goto catching Finlay in a headlock before dropping him with a shoulder tackle, Finlay recovers to catch Goto with a middle rope European uppercut. Goto gets back up and he drops a charging Finlay with a clothesline, Yoshi-Hashi and Tanahashi start brawling with each other on the arena floor for a short time. Yoshi-Hashi tags into the match and he just slams Finlay, Yoshi-Hashi then smashes the face of Finlay into the boot of Goto. Goto tags back in and he locks Finlay in the single leg crab, Yoshi-Hashi tags in and he places Finlay and an interfering Tanahashi on the top rope before landing a double drop kick.

Yoshi-Hashi continues attacking Finlay with a barrage of strikes to keep him down, Finlay eventually recovers and drops a charging Yoshi-Hashi with a drop kick. Tanahashi tags in and he mauls Yoshi-Hashi with strikes in the corner, Goto jumps Tanahashi from behind and then Tanahashi takes out both opponents with dragon screw leg whips. Tanahashi slams Yoshi-Hashi and then catches him with a middle rope swanton bomb for a near fall, Yoshi-Hashi fights back and he catches Tanahashi with a super kick. Tanahashi quickly recovers and nails Yoshi-Hashi with a spinning neck breaker, Finlay tags in and he eats a mule kick from Yoshi-Hashi. Goto tags in and he looks for the GTR until Tanahashi interferes, Yoshi-Hashi takes out Tanahashi and Goto catches Finlay with a GTR for the three count.

Winners: Choas (Yoshi-Hashi & Hirooki Goto)

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Juice Robinson vs. Tama Tonga

The match begins with Tonga working over the arm of Robinson the two do some chain wrestling, Robinson eventually drops Tonga and works over his arm as well. Tonga gets up and he backs Robinson into the corner before mauling him with strikes, Tonga then hits the injured knee of Robinson with an inverted stunner. Tonga waits for Robinson to get up before mauling him with more strikes in the corner, Tonga then catches Robinson with an avalanche in the corner. Robinson starts fighting back and Tonga drop kicks him into the corner, Tonga goes for another avalanche and Robinson catches him before landing a full nelson slam.

Robinson gets up first and he cracks Tonga with his patented jabs, Robinson then nails Tonga with a falling DDT for a near fall. Robinson would then lock Tonga in a cobra clutch/camel clutch combination fora short time, Tonga rolls to the ring apron and Robinson tries suplexing him back into the ring. Tonga escapes the suplex attempt to chop block Robinson in his injured knee, Tonga then grabs Robinson and he hangs him upside down in the corner. Tonga would then catch Robinson with an avalanche onto his injured knee, Tonga crushes Robinson with the Tongan Twist for a near fall. Tonga goes for the Gun Stun and Robinson counters by landing a lariat, Robinson goes for a counter bomb and Tonga escapes.

Tonga goes for a Gun Stun and Robinson escapes, Robinson then goes for Pulp Friction and Tonga finds a way to escape. Tonga eventually cracks Robinson with a jumping DDT for a near fall, Robinson catches Tonga with a roll up for a near fall. Tonga then hits Robinson with a Gun Stun for the three count.

Winner: Tama Tonga

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Toru Yano vs. Sanada

The match begins with Sanada jumping Yano as he entered the ring, Yano escapes and removes the turnbuckle pad. Sanada steals the turnbuckle pad and he attacks Yano with it, Sanada also finds Yano’s water bottle and he dumps the water on him. Yano surprises Sanada with a few roll ups for some near falls, Sanada traps Yano in the ropes while pulling back on his legs, Sanada drags Yano out of the ring and Yano throws him into the barricade. Sanada then steals Yano’s tape roll and he throws it into the crowd, Sanada brings Yano back into the ring and he stomps away on him. Sanada then levels a running Yano with a drop kick, Sanada lands on his feet during a moonsault attempt and then Yano sends him into the exposed corner.

Sanada goes for the Cold Skull and Yano rolls him up for a near fall, Sanada goes for the hold again and Yano escapes to the arena floor. Yano finds another roll of tape and he attempts to tape Sanada’s legs together, Sanada escapes and drops Yano with a clothesline on the arena floor. Sanada drags Yano up the aisle and locks him in the paradise lock and leaves him out there to be counted out.

Winner: Sanada, by count out

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Minoru Suzuki vs. Evil

The match begins with Suzuki jumping Evil right after the introductions, Suzuki drags Evil out of the ring and Evil attacks him with chops. Evil would then toss Suzuki right into the barricade, Evil grabs Suzuki and they start battling into the crowd. Suzuki breaks free and he attacks Evil with a plethora of chair shots to the back, Suzuki picks up Evil and then drops him with a single strike. Suzuki finds an unopened water bottle and he smashes it into the face of Evil, Suzuki gets back in the ring and he rips away at the face of Evil as he got back into the ring.

Suzuki looks for a headbutt and Evil counters with a spinning clothesline, Suzuki goes back outside the ring and Evil follows him out there. El Desparado interferes and Evil throws him into the barricade, Evil then wraps a chair around the head of Suzuki and then nails him with a second chair. Evil brings Suzuki back into the ring and he just kicks away at him, Suzuki recovers and he drops Evil before apply the crowbar to his arm. Evil eventually makes it to the ropes to break the submission hold, Evil uses the referee to distract Suzuki before nailing him with a super kick. Suzuki responds by having Evil accidentally drop the referee, Desparado attacks Evil and Bushi hits the ring to take him out.

Taichi interferes and he attacks Evil with a steel chair, this brings out Hiromu Takahashi and he takes Taichi out of the match. Suzuki grabs the chair and he nails Evil with it, the referee takes the chair from Suzuki and Evil nails Suzuki with a clothesline. Suzuki locks Evil in the sleeper hold after a series of reversals, Evil escapes and nails Suzuki with the STO to get the three count.

Winner: Evil

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Satoshi Kojima vs. Kazuchika Okada

The match begins with Okada jumping Kojima and nailing him with a few strikes, Kojima drops a charging Okada with a shoulder block. Kojima then kicks away at a downed Okada, Okada starts hunting for the Rainmaker early in the match. Okada places Kojima on the top rope and then drop kicks him off to the arena floor below, Okada follows Kojima out of the ring and he throws him over the barricade to the crowd. Okada then catches Kojima with a barricade assisted DDT on the arena floor, Okada grabs Hiroyoshi Tenzan and he throws him into the ring. Tenzan refuses to fight Okada and he goes to check on Kojima, Kojima gets back into the ring and Okada catches him with a drop kick for a near fall.

Kojima tries fighting back and Okada locks him in the chin lock, Okada releases the hold and drops Kojima with a few strikes. Kojima fights back by attacking Okada with some Mongolian chops and a neck breaker, Kojima then drops Okada with a running forearm strike. Kojima traps Okada in the corner before clobbering him with machine gun chops, Okada fights back and Kojima quickly drops him with a DDT. Okada then catches a charging Kojima and nails him with a modified neck breaker. Okada goes to the top rope and he nails Kojima with an elbow drop, Kojima backs Okada into the corner to avoid the Rainmaker attempt. Okada goes back to the top rope and Kojima cloteslines him off to the arena floor, Kojima tries suplexing Okada into the ring and Okada escapes.

Kojima and Okada have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Kojima eventually drops Okada with a pair of forearm strikes. Kojima again attacks Okada with machine gun chops in the corner, Kojima then hits Okada with a running forearm strike in the corner. Kojima places Okada on the top rope and nails him with a super Koji Cutter for a near fall, Kojima then crushes Okada with a brain buster for a near fall. Kojima goes for the lariat and Okada catches him with a German suplex instead, Okada goes for the Rainmaker and Kojima nails him with a lariat for a near fall. Okada recovers and drops a charging Kojima with a drop kick, Kojima gets back up and he drops Okada with a roaring elbow strike. Okada recovers to escape a hold from Kojima and nail him with a tombstone pile driver, Okada hits Kojima with the Rainmaker for the three count.

Winner: Kazuchika Okada

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block B: Michael Elgin vs. Kenny Omega

The match begins with Omega nailing Elgin with a few strikes after backing him into the corner, Elgin would then trap Omega in the corner before tossing him across the ring. Elgin continues his attack by dropping Omega with a delayed verticle suplex, Elgin goes to the ring apron and he nails an incoming Omega with a slingshot elbow strike. Omega then rolls to the ring apron and Elgin knocks him off onto the barricade below, Elgin then uses a kick to knock Omega over the barricade and into the crowd. Omega fights back and leaps off the barricade onto Elgin, but Elgin catches Omega and nails him with an overhead release suplex on the arena floor. Elgin follows that up by tossing Omega back into the ring, Elgin goes to the top rope and Omega slows him down with a few strikes.

Omega eventually goes to the top rope and Elgin goes for the sunset flip power bomb, Omega escapes and he nails Elgin with a super kick followed by a Fame-Asser. Omega would then attack Elgin with a series of knee strikes to the rib cage, Omega slows things down further by holding Elgin in a chin lock. Elgin escapes and he gets into a chopping exchange with Omega, Elgin clobbers Omega with a strike and he rolls to the ring apron. Elgin goes for the slingshot splash and Omega gets out of the way again, Omega then goes for a moonsault and Elgin gets out of the way. Omega escapes to the corner and Elgin clobbers him with a clothesline, Elgin eats a chop before nailing a charging Omega with a power slam.

Omega and Elgin exchange strike again until Omega gets trapped in the corner, Elgin then nails Omega with a series of running clotheslines in the corner. Omega is eventually propelled to the ring apron by Elgin, Omega then makes his way to the top rope and leaps onto Elgin. Elgin catches Omega and then nails him with a side effect for a near fall, Elgin follows that up by nailing Omega with a series of clothesline strikes. Omega tries fighting back and Elgin cracks him with an enzaguri, Omega recovers and knocks a charging Elgin out of the ring with a hurricarana. Omega looks for a dive and Elgin gets in the ring quickly, Omega then hits Elgin with a V-Trigger before knocking him out of the ring with a dragon suplex.

Omega then catches Elgin with a suicide dive and they both come crashing onto the arena floor, Omega gets Elgin back into the ring for a near fall. Elgin recovers and he nails Omega with a few strikes before eating a V-Trigger, Omega then cracks Elgin with a cross legged neck breaker. Omega follows that up by catching Elgin with another V-Trigger, Elgin recovers and drops Omega with a clothesline. Omega and Elgin get into another striking exchange in the middle of the ring until Omega goes down, Elgin picks up Omega and then drops him with a lariat for a near fall. Elgin then hits Omega with a buckle bomb, Elgin would then hit Omega with a reverse hurricarana followed by a lariat. Elgin then crushes Omega with the Elgin Bomb for a near fall, Elgin then drags Omega to the ring apron and Omega winds up cracking him with a V-Trigger.

Omega goes to the arena floor and he removes the safety mats, Omega goes back to the ring apron and Elgin nails him with an Elgin Bomb on the ring apron. Omega falls to the arena floor and Elgin follows him down there, Elgin then tosses Omega back into the ring. Elgin would then place Omega on the top rope and he follows him up there, Omega escapes Elgin’s hold to land a super hurricarana for a near fall. Omega then cracks a seated Elgin with a series on V-Triggers for another near fall, Omega follows that up by hitting Elgin with a double under hook pile driver for another near fall. Omega then cracks a kneeling Elgin with more knee strikes to the face, Elgin gets up and Omega crushes him with more V-Triggers and a dragon suplex for a near fall. Elgin recovers and hits Omega with a series of power bomb, Elgin then hits Omega with a spinning Elgin Bomb for a near fall.

Elgin gets Omega on his shoulders and Omega finds a way to escape, Elgin grabs him again and nails him with a few belly to back suplexes for a near fall. Elgin grabs Omega again and he places him on his shoulders to hit him with a burning hammer for the three count.
