Ryusuke Taguchi & Ren Narita vs. Suzuki-Gun (Yoshinobu Kanemaru & El Desparado)

The match begins with Desparado and Narita doing some chain wrestling, Narita backs Desparado into the ropes before landing a chop. Narita gets Desparado down while wrenching away on his arm, Narita then drops Desparado with a shoulder tackle. Desparado recovers to get Narita out of the ring before Kanemaru throws him into the barricade multiple times, Kanemaru tags in and he nails Narita with a back body drop before applying a camel clutch. Desparado tags in and he nails Narita with a slam followed by a splash to the back, Kanemaru tags back in and he kicks away at a downed Narita.

Narita recovers to nail a charging Kanemaru with a drop kick, Taguchi tags in and he cleans house on the opposing team. Taguchi then hits Kanemaru with multiple hip attacks, Taguchi follows that up by nailing Kanemaru with a trio of suplexes for a near fall. Taguchi goes back to attacking Kanemaru with hip attacks until nailing Taguchi with a drop kick, Desparado tags in and he nails Taguchi with an atomic drop. Taguchi recovers and he nails a charging Desparado with a hip attack. Narita tags in and he throws Kanemaru into the barricade before attacking Desparado, Taguchi and Narita attack Desparado with some double team moves for a near fall. Desparado recovers to hit Narita with a spine buster followed by a Boston crab, Desparado then applies the horse collar and Narita taps out.

Winners: Suzuki-Gun (Yoshinobu Kanemaru & El Desparado)

Yuji Nagata, Syota Umino & Tetsuhiro Yagi vs. Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Yujiro Takahashi & Tonga Loa)

The match begins with Takahashi nailing Yagi with a few strikes as the remaining members of each team brawl on the arena floor, Yagi recovers to catch Takahashi with a running back elbow strike followed by a drop kick. Umino hits the ring and he helps Yagi double team Takahashi for a near fall, Loa hits the ring and he cleans house to assist Takahashi. Takahashi corners Yagi before assaulting him with a series of chops, Loa tags in and he crushes Yagi with a headbutt. Loa follows that up by slamming Yagi for a near fall, Fale tags in and he stomps and chokes a downed Yagi. Fale keeps Yagi down before landing a butt squash for a near fall, Takahashi tags back in and Yagi quickly nails him with a drop kick.

Nagata tags in and he quickly cleans house on the opposing team, Nagata takes Fale down with a low drop kick to the leg. Loa hits the ring and Nagata nails him with an exploder suplex, Nagata then attacks Takahashi with a series of kicks. Nagata gets Takahashi in the Nagata Lock and Fale eventually breaks it up, Umino tags in and he nails Takahashi with a few running back elbow strikes. Umino eventually drops Takahashi with a running forearm strike, Umino goes to the top rope and Takahashi crotches him to get him down. Bullet Club hits the ring and they triple team Umino, Umino recovers and he eventually catches Takahashi with a missile drop kick for a near fall. Umino goes for an arm bar and Takahashi quickly escapes, Umino misses a drop kick and Takahashi nails him with a fisherman buster suplex for a near fall. Takahashi then hits Umino with Pimp Juice for a three count.

Winners: Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Yujiro Takahashi & Tonga Loa)

Michael Elgin & Tomoyuki Oka vs. Chaos (Hirooki Goto & Yoshi-Hashi)

The match begins with Goto working over Oka with a headlock, Oka gets free and he tries dropping Goto with shoulder tackles. Goto responds by quickly dropping Oka with a shoulder tackle, Yoshi-Hashi tags in and he works with Goto to double team Oka for a near fall. Yoshi-Hashi traps Oka in the ropes while assaulting him with some chops, Goto tags in and he nail Oka with some more strikes. Goto then nails Oka with a kick to the back before applying the chin lock, Oka gets free and he eats some more strikes from Goto. Goto would then corner Oka to land a spin kick followed by a belly to back suplex for a near fall, Oka recovers and he drops a charging Goto with a sling blade.

Elgin tags in and he immediately cleans house on the opposing team, Elgin gets Goto in the corner to land an enzaguri. Elgin the gets Goto on the top rope so he can propel him off for a near fall, Elgin follows that up by landing some clotheslines on Goto. Goto recovers and he drops a charging Elgin with a lariat before tagging Yoshi-Hashi in, Yoshi-Hashi attacks Elgin with a few strikes before Elgin nails him with a falcon arrow. Oka tags in and he double teams Yoshi-Hashi alongside Elgin, Goto hits the ring before Oka and Elgin knock him out of it. Oka would then drop Yoshi-Hashi again for another near fall, Oka applies the camel clutch to Yoshi-Hashi. Yoshi-Hashi gets free and Oka quickly nails him with a suplex followed by a spine buster for a near fall, Yoshi-Hashi catches Oka with a super kick from out of nowhere for a near fall.

Yoshi-Hashi then hits Oka with a suplex into a neck breaker for another near fall, Yoshi-Hashi transitions into a butterfly lock and a tap out follows.

Winners: Chaos (Hirooki Goto & Yoshi-Hashi)

Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Niato & Bushi) vs. Suzuki-Gun (Zack Sabre Jr. & Taka Michinoku)

The match begins with Naito shoving Sabre Jr before tagging Bushi in, Bushi attacks a distracted Sabre Jr with a series of strikes. Bushi would then choke Sabre Jr with his shirt, Sabre Jr gets free and he tags Michinoku into the match. Michinoku would gain control by poking Bushi in the eyes and then trying to rip the mask off of his face, Sabre Jr tags in and he chokes Bushi in the corner. Sabre Jr applies a modified indian stretch to Bushi while pulling at his mask, Michinoku tags in and he works over the arms of Bushi. Michinoku corners Bushi before landing a pair of knee strikes for a near fall, Bushi fights back and he eventually drops Michinoku with an enzaguri.

Naito and Sabre Jr get tagged into the match and Naito quickly attacks him with a few drop kicks, Naito follows that up with a neck breaker on Sabre Jr. Naito keeps Sabre Jr down by landing a series of strikes to his neck, Sabre Jr recovers and he applies a guillotine choke to Naito before transitioning to an ankle lock. Naito gets free and Sabre Jr applies a modified octopus stretch to him, Naito gets free and he nails Sabre Jr with some elbow strikes. Naito follows that up with an atomic drop followed by an enzaguri on Sabre Jr, Bushi tags in and Sabre Jr quickly twists away on his neck. Michinoku tags in and Bushi nails him with forearm strikes, Michinoku then applies the crossface to Bushi and Naito breaks it all up.

Michinoku then nails Bushi with a super kick for a near fall, Naito hits the ring to trip up Michinoku and land a slingshot drop kick. Bushi and Naito then take out Sabre Jr with some double team moves, Bushi then hits Michinoku with a spinning fisherman buster suplex followed by MX for a three count.

Winners: Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Niato & Bushi)

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Toa Henare, Juice Robinson & David Finlay vs. Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, Lance Archer, Taichi & Takashi Iizuka)

The match begins with a brawl breaking out between both teams that spills to the arena floor, Taichi and Robinson take their battle in the ring while everybody else remains on the outside. Robinson nails Taichi with his patented jabs and a cross body block, Finlay tags in and he double teams Taichi alongside Robinson. Iizuka hits the ring and he attacks both Robinson and Finlay, Robinson and Finlay work together to eliminate Iizuka from the ring. Finlay then hits Taichi with some European uppercuts, Suzuki interferes to apply a rope assisted arm bar to Finlay. A second brawl on the arena floor quickly breaks out between both teams, Suzuki gets Tanahashi into the crowd before attacking him with chairs and the barricade.

Taichi gets Finlay back in the ring and Iizuka bites him while the referee is distracted, Archer tags into the match and he crushes Finlay with The Pounces. Archer waits for Finlay to get back up before dropping him with a clothesline, Iizuka tags in and he stomps away on Finlay before biting him. Suzuki tags in and he attacks Finlay with a bunch of kicks, Finlay eats a few more strikes before dropping Suzuki with a running European uppercut. Tanahashi tags in and he quickly cleans house on the opposing team, Tanahashi nails Suzuki with a dragon screw leg whip.Suzuki recovers and he eventually applies the knee bar to Tanahashi until Robinson breaks it up, Tanahashi and Suzuki have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring.

Archer tags in and he nails Tanahashi with a full nelson slam for a near fall, Archer would then attack the rest of the opposing team. Tanahashi eventually nails Archer with a spinning neck breaker before tagging Henare into the match, Henare quickly triple teams Archer alongside Finlay and Robinson. Henare then hits Archer with a Samoan drop for a near fall, a brawl between most of the cmpetitors takes place on the arena floor. Archer recovers and he nails a charging Henare with a Bossman Slam for a near fall, Archer gets Henare on the top rope and he nails him with an inverted power slam for the three count.

Winners: Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, Lance Archer, Taichi & Takashi Iizuka)

Chaos (Kazuchika Okada & Tomohiro Ishii) vs. Kota Ibushi & Chase Owens

The match begins with some chain wrestling between Ibushi and Okada, Okada catches Ibushi in a headlock before dropping him with a shoulder tackle. Owens and Ishii get tagged in by their respective partners, Owens and Ishii try dropping each other with shoulder tackles. Owens gains control by nailing Ishii with a few strikes, Ishii recovers and he drops Owens with a shoulder block. Ishii and Owens get into a striking exchange until Owens catches him with a back breaker, Ibushi tags in and he nails Ishii with a plethora of strikes. Owens tags in and he kicks away at a cornered Ishii, Owens then holds Ishii down while applying a chin lock.

Ishii gets free and Owens drops him with an enzaguri, Ibushi tags in and he double teams Ishii alongside Owens. Ibushi traps Ishii in the corner while landing a series of forearm strikes, Ishii fights back and Ibushi nails him with a kick. Ishii recovers and he catches a charging Ibushi with a power slam, Owens interferes and Ishii nails him with a suplex. Okada tags in and he immediately cleans house on the opposing team, Okada then hits a charging Ibushi with a flapjack for a near fall. Okada goes to the top rope and Ibushi avoids his leap off, Ibushi then hits Okada with an overhead kick. Owens tags in and he nails Okada with a slingshot back breaker for a near fall, Okada misses a drop kick and Owens crushes him with a knee strike.

Okada recovers and he drops Owens before landing a drop kick, Ibushi hits the ring and he nails Okada with a missile drop kick. Ishii then comes in the ring to hit Ibushi with a German suplex and lariat, Okada catches Owens in the cobra clutch and a tap out follows.

Winners: Chaos (Kazuchika Okada & Tomohiro Ishii)

NJPW New Japan Cup 2018 Opening Round: Toru Yano vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr.

The match begins with Yano jumping Smith Jr before the bell rings, Yano grabs some tape and Smith Jr attacks him before he can do anything. Smith Jr then drops Yano with a shoulder tackle followed by a suplex, Yano wraps his shirt around Smith Jr before rolling him up for a near fall. Yano grabs the turnbuckle pad and Smith Jr stops him from using it, Smith Jr then throws Yano into the exposed corner. Smith Jr mounts Yano and he assaults him with strikes in the corner, Smith Jr would then hang Yano upside down in the corner before kicking away at him. Yano gets free and he catches Smith Jr with another roll up for a near fall, Yano and Smith Jr go to the outside of the ring to have a brief striking exchange.

Smith Jr takes Yano into the crowd and he throws him into a bunch of chairs, Smith Jr grabs a woman’s purse and he attacks Yano with it. Smith Jr waits for Yano to get back into the ring and he just stomps away on him, Smith Jr slows things down further by holding Yano in a chin lock. Smith Jr then hits Yano with a gut wrench suplex for a near fall, Smith Jr follows that up by getting Yano in a head scissors. Smith Jr gets Yano in the corner while attacking him with more strikes, Yano uses a referee distraction to nail Smith Jr with an inverted atomic drop before throwing him into the exposed corner. Yano grabs his steel chair and Smith Jr kicks it into his face, Smith Jr sets the chair up in the corner and Yano runs right into it.

Smith Jr then hits Yano with a belly to back suplex for a near fall, Smith Jr follows that up with a crossface on Yano and Yano gets to the ropes. Yano recovers and he propels Smith Jr into the exposed corner, Yano catches Smith Jr with a roll up after a low blow for a near fall. Smith Jr recovers and he nails Yano with a running power slam, Yano gets back up and he drops Smith Jr on the top rope before grabbing more tape. Yano tries taping the feet of Smith Jr together and he gets kicked up the entrance ramp, Smith Jr follows him out of the ring to land a bunch of headbutts. Smith Jr crotches himself on the barricade and Yano beats the count in the ring to win the match.

Winner: Toru Yano, by count out

NJPW New Japan Cup 2018 Opening Round: Sanada vs. Chuckie T

The match begins with a little chain wrestling between both competitors, Sanada would then drop T with a shoulder tackle. Sanada and T would then exchange a few arm drags before both miss drop kicks, T gets up first and he knocks Sanada out of the ring with a drop kick. T follows him out there and Sanada throws him into the barricade, Sanada drags T into the crowd and attacks him with a few strikes. Sanada also throws T into a bunch of chairs that the crowd was sitting in, they battle back towards ringside and T throws Sanada into the barricade. T grabs a table and he sets it up at ringside, T tries suplexing Sanada through the table and Sanada winds up suplexing him on the arena floor.

Sanada gets T back in the ring and he works him over with stomps in the corner, Sanada goes to the ring apron and he tries superplexing T to the table. T prevents this from happening and he battles Sanada on the ring apron, T gets back in the ring and Sanada tries applying the Skull End from the ring apron. Sanada gets back in the ring and he nails T with a running back elbow strike followed by a suplex for a near fall, Sanada then applies a chin lock to T. T recovers and he eventually drops a charging Sanada, T gets up and he nails Sanada with multiple clotheslines. T then nails Sanada with a middle rope missile drop kick followed by a falcon arrow for a near fall, T would then apply the figure four leg lock to Sanada.

Sanada gets to the ropes and T corners him before landing a few more strikes, T gets Sanada on the top rope and Sanada quickly escapes the Awful Waffle. Sanada knocks T out of the ring with a drop kick before landing a dive on him, Sanada gets T in the ring before landing a springboard drop kick. T recovers and he catches a leaping Sanada with a sit out power bomb for a near fall, T knocks Sanada out of the ring before taking him out with a suicide dive. T then takes the chance to throw Sanada into the barricade a few times, T throws Sanada into the crowd and then into a bunch of chairs. T grabs a few chairs and he slams Sanada on top of them, T then gets Sanada and he power bombs him right through the table.

Sanada recovers and he gets T into the ring to land another springboard drop kick, Sanada then hits T with a back suplex for a near fall. T counters the Skull End before nailing Sanada with a kick to the face, T then hits Sanada with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. T goes to the top rope and he misses the moonsault attempt, T recovers to nail Sanada with Soul Food after a series of reversals. Sanada recovers quickly to hit T with a TKO for another near fall, Sanada misses a moonsault attempt and T crotches him on the top rope. T nails Sanada with an Awful Waffle for a near fall, Sanada catches T in the Skull End after some chain wrestling and T escapes to catch Sanada with a roll up. Sanada reapplies the Skull End and he releases it to hit T with a moonsault for the three count.
