NXT Results 5/25/21 NXT Championship Finn Balor vs. Karrion Kross, Ted DiBiase Returns

- The show starts with a Finn Balor and Karrion Kross video promoting tonight’s big NXT Main Event Championship Match.

- They now go live, and Vic Joseph welcoming the WWE Universe to the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida. Joseph then introduces Wade Barrett and WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix. They then go over tonight’s card and say the night's first match will be the Women’s NXT Tag-Team match.

Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez vs. Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart

The match begins, and Shotzi Blackheart goes right after Raquel Gonzalez. She gets no offense at all, and Raquel begins throwing Shotzi around and gets some of her own strikes in. Blackheart gets away and tags in Ember Moon. Moon goes right at Gonzalez and gets some strikes in, but that does not last long either. Gonzalez knocks Moon right down with a strong right.

Gonzalez tags in Dakota Kai; Kai gets in some offense in on Moon. She delivers multiple strikes; however, Moon gets away from Kai, and Moon tags in Blackheart. Now, Blackheart and Moon are tagging in and out. Blackheart puts Kai in a Texas Cloverleaf. Raquel Gonzalez pulls Dakota Kai away and from Moon, and the match will continue as they go to their first commercial break.

We come back from the commercial break with Kai and Blackheart tagging in their partners. Moon gets some strong strikes in on Gonzalez, but Kai distracts Moon, and Gonzalez hits Moon with a big boot. Kai goes for the pin, but the pin is broken up. Moon gets away from Kai; Blackheart hits Kai with a clothesline and then follows it up with an enzuigiri. Blackheart then hits Kai with a Fireman's Facebuster. Moon has Kai in a submission hold, but Gonzalez breaks it up.

Ember Moon counters Gonzalez's Exclamation Point with a variation move of the Eclipse. Blackheart then takes out Kai; Moon goes for the pin and gets the win. After the match, Raquel Gonzalez is mad now, and she goes after and destroys Shotzi Blackheart with a variety of moves on the outside of the ring.

Winners: Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart

Pete Dunne vs. Bobby Fish (w/ Oney Lorcan)

The match begins with Bobby Fish going right after Pete Dunne. Fish gets many strikes in on Dunne; Dunne got the upper hand when the referee made Fish release Dunne, who was on the ropes. Dunne then delivered a huge forearm shot to the face of Bobby Fish.

Dunne is now going right after Fish and begins grinding away on the neck of Bobby Fish. Fish then counters Dunne with a Fujiwara armbar. FIsh and Dunne exchange multiple stiff strikes; Dunne gets walloped and goes between the top and middle ropes and directly down to the ground outside the ring. They now go to another commercial break.

We are back, and Dunne's face has a big welt under his left eye; Dunne and Fish are laying it in hard and heavy on each other. Fish hits Dunne with a quick suplex into the ropes, and Dunne looks like he lands on his neck. Dunne gets back up and hits Fish with a big German suplex. Dunne goes for a running knee but Fish ducks and then hits Dunne with a dropkick. Dunne and Fish exchange submission hold until Dunne counters it into the Bitter End. After the match, Oney Lorcan attacks Bobby Fish and lays it in on him, and Dunne watches.

Winner: Pete Dunne (w/ Oney Lorcan)

- Mercedes Martinez does a short promo that says she learned from her match last week, and today is the road back to getting another Women's title match. Boa watches Martinez while standing back in a doorway.

- We get a vignette from Hit Row talking about who they will be going after the gold.

Mercedes Martinez vs. Zayda Ramier

Zayda Ramier goes right in on Mercedes Martinez, but Mercedes lifts Ramier and takes her down. Ramier gets up and gets a few shots in, but it does not last long. Martinez hits multiple double hooked suplexes on Ramier. Martinez now in control as she hits Ramier with a big knee to the face of Ramier. Martinez then picks up Ramier and hits her with the Air Raid Crash, and gets the win. After the match, Martinez is celebrating her win, and the lights go out. The lights come back on, and she has an "X" marked on her hand, setting up a potential feud with Xia Li?

Winner: Mercedes Martinez

- Million Dollar Face-off begins with Cameron Grimes walking into the ring; he grabs the mic to talk; he gets one word in, and Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase's music starts playing right away. DiBiase and Grimes are in the ring; Grimes asks DiBiase, "why?", why are you embarrassing me. He said he looks up to Ted DiBiase. Grimes says, "it might be true, never meet your idols. DiBiase says to "Grimes, I like you. Did you ever consider that I might have done this to you for a reason"? DiBiase says he is looking for someone to carry his legacy, and he tells Grimes that he's got it. DiBiase tells Grimes that Grimes has lost his focus since he's gotten rich. LA Knight introduces himself and tells DiBiase that he is the man who DiBiase is looking for. DiBiase tells Grimes to let him talk; Knight tells him that he can build that legacy to the place DiBiase wants. DiBiase sees the talent in LA Knight. Grimes says that this is a Million Dollar Face-Off, and he tells Knight to get out of the ring, or he's going to kick his ass. Knight then attacks Grimes and leaves the ring; DiBiase then stands over Grimes and says that he will never get it.

- We get a promo for NXT Takeover: In Your House

- Indi Hartwell is looking for Dexter Lumis; she walks into a room, interrupting Ever Rise's show. Drake Maverick then tells her the last time he saw him; he was in this room over here. Hartwell walks into the room, and it's just art that Lumis has done of Hartwell, and it freaks her out.

Franky Monet vs. Cora Jade

The match begins with Monet and Jade tying up, it goes to the corner, and the ref breaks it up. Monet then delivers some strong and stiff strikes and hits Jade with multiple knee strikes to Cora Jade. Jade gets hit with multiple kicks and then a big lariat. Jade gets up, and some shots finally on Monet, but it does not last long as she hits Jade with a big spear. Monet ends it with The Road to Vahalla/Glam Slam and gets the pin.

Winner: Franky Monet

- Short promo of Grizzled Young Veterans, and they say they are done with Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher, and their focus is on MSK and the NXT Tag-Team Titles.

- The new North American Champion Bronson Reed says it took him fourteen years to get to the North American Championship. He fell a lot, and he battled, and he battled. He says that this belt shows that you can do anything you want to do. Legado del Fantasma interrupts him, and he says that the North American title is his, and he's going for it because it also represents Mexico. Legado del Fantasma is trying to surround Reed, but MSK runs out and even things. MSK delivers superkick's to Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza, and Reed takes out Santos Escobar.

- They come back from a commercial with William Regal announcing that they will need a new number, one contender, after tonight. Next week's NXT will feature Johnny Gargano vs. Kyle O'Reilly vs. Pete Dunne, and the winner will face the NXT Champion at NXT Takeover: In Your House.

NXT Heavyweight Championship Title Match
Finn Balor vs. Karrion Kross (w/ Scarlett Bordeaux)

Finn Balor is out first and is followed by Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux. Alicia Taylor does introductions before the match starts, with both Balor and Kross staring each other down. The match begins with Balor putting Kross in a headlock. Kross hits Balor with a big shoulder tackle; Kross takes some shots at Balor and knocks him out of the ring, but Balor gets right back in and goes right after Kross, which causes Kross to exit the ring, and he is agitated. They go to a picture-in-picture commercial with Kross and Balor countering each other with multiple holds; neither men really getting an advantage.

They come back with Kross controlling the match; he goes after the back of Finn Balor's legs. Kross hits Balor with a quick suplex. Kross now landing some big punches to the chin of Finn Balor. Balor gets away from Kross, and then he puts Kross in a stretch hold and then delivered some strong punches to the ribs of Karrion Kross.

Kross gets out of it and starts going to work on Finn Balor's back. Kross then grabs Balor and hits Balor with a big German suplex. Kross goes for another German suplex, but Balor counters it into a crossface, but Kross gets out of it. Balor hits Kross with a Coup de Grace; Balor and Kross try to recover as they go to another picture-in-picture commercial break. The action goes outside the ring, and Balor takes out Kross. Balor gets back into the ring as the ref continues the count. Balor then goes back out and goes after Kross some more. Balor rolls Kross back into the ring; Balor lines Kross up and goes for a dropkick, but Kross waits for it and takes him down immediately.

Balor and Kross are exchanging strikes, but Kross delivers another big clothesline to Balor. Kross appears to go for a powerbomb, but Balor escapes and hits Kross with a big dropkick, knocking down Kross. Both men are still going at it; Kross lifts Balor and hits him with a quick powerslam. Balor is back up, and he goes at Kross and hits him with a big chop. Kross is hit with a double shot dropkick but is back up immediately, and Kross puts Balor in a sleeper hold. Balor makes it to the ropes, and both men are outside the ropes, and Kross is just inflicting damage on Balor.

Kross goes for another powerbomb, but Balor counters it into a DDT; Kross goes to the outside, and Balor dives and hits Kross. Balor is up but so is Kross, and it surprises Balor. Kross slams Balor down onto the commentary table. The action goes back to the ring; Balor goes for the Coup de Grace, but Kross moves out of the way. Kross hits Balor with the Saito suplex, and Kross gets up and goes for Sands of Time, but Balor moves. Kross and Balor are exchanging strikes; Balor puts Kross in Sands of Time; Kross is almost out. The ref picks up Kross's arm, but Kross grabs the ref; Kross is back up, and now he puts Balor in the sleeper. Balor goes, out and the ref calls for the bell. Kross retains the NXT Heavyweight Championship.

Winner: Karrion Kross (w/ Scarlett Bordeaux)
