WWE 205 Live Results 5/29 Cedric Alexander defends his Cruiserweight Championship against Buddy Murphy & More!

This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of WWE 205 Live. Tonight after weeks of anticipation and training Buddy Murphy finally gets his shot at gold when he challenges Cedric Alexander for the Cruiserweight Championship. -We open the show with a video package for the build-up to the Cruiserweight Championship match between Cedric Alexander and Buddy Murphy later tonight in our main event. 

Powerhouse Hobbs Match Added To 4/20 AEW Collision

Jack Gallagher & The Brian Kendrick vs Lucha House Party

Brian and Lince start the match off by grappling before Lince dropkicks Brian before Brian tags Jack in. Kalisto comes in and hits Jack with a series of high paced moves before Jack rolls out of the ring and Kendrick attacks him from behind. Jack comes in and starts focusing on the arm of Kalisto, wringing it and smashing it against the mat. Kalisto sends Brian over the top when he comes in before tagging Lince in who hits a diving cross body and takes out Jack on the apron. Lince hits a huricanrrana for a quick two count before hitting a handspring stunner that sends Brian out of the ring. Lince then hits a tope to the outside onto Brian before Drew Gulak sends Lince from the top when the refer is distracted. Brian then locks in the Captain's Hook and Lince is forced to tap for the win.

Winner: The Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher defeat Lucha House Party when Kendrick submits Lince with the Captain's Hook.

Cruiserweight Championship Match 

Cedric Alexander (c) vs Buddy Murphy

They lock up to start the match before exchanging wrist locks before they take each other down repeatedly for a series of quick two counts. They counter each other's huricanrranas before Cedric sends Buddy out of the ring and Cedric hits an enzuigiri when he tries to get back in. Cedric hits several tope to the outside before Buddy sends him into the barricade and rolls him back into the ring. Buddy kicks Cedric in the spine for a quick two count before whipping him across the ring repeatedly. Cedric fights out of a rear chin lock before they exchange strikes. Buddy catches Cedric in midair with a single leg dropkick when he comes off the top before he sends Cedric into the ring post and Cedric catches him coming in, both men collapsing to the mat immediately after.

They exchange strikes until Cedric sends Buddy out of the ring with a roundhouse kick and hits a flipping tope to the outside before rolling him back into the ring and hitting a springboard clothesline for a quick two count. Buddy sends Cedric out of the ring with a boot before hitting a flipping senton of his own, then rolls him back into the ring before Cedric hits a Michinoku driver for a near fall. Buddy catches Cedric coming in repeatedly before hitting a brainbuster for a near fall, then they go out onto the apron before Cedric hits an enzuigiri into a snap DDT. They get back in the ring and exchange forearms before Buddy counters a handspring roundhouse kick into a spinning DDT for a very close near fall. They then exchange a flurry of strikes before Buddy drops Cedric with a high knee for a near fall, then Buddy gets a series of near falls off of another knee and a roll up.

Cedric then hits his signature handspring roundhouse kick twice before finishing up with the Lumbar Check for the pin and the win.

Winner: Cedric Alexander defends his Cruiserweight Championship by defeating Buddy Murphy via pinfall with the Lumbar Check.
