WWE NXT 2.0 Results For 4/5/2022: Nikkita Lyons vs Lash Legend, Cameron Grimes Speaks+ More

- The broadcast began with a recap of the WWE Premium Live Event "Stand & Deliver", which took place on April 2, 2022 and included moments like Triple H's return to WWE Television to give Tomasso Ciampa his farewell from NXT. The video package also showed Bron Breakker beating Dolph Ziggler to become the new NXT Champion.

- After the video package, Vic Joseph and Wade Barrett welcomed the audience to the show, with the newly crowned NXT Champion, Bron Breakker, making his way to the ring to address the crowd and his victory on Monday. Breakker stated that his first WrestleMania weekend was full of ups and downs, mentioning inducting the Steiner Brothers to the Hall of Fame, his loss to Dolph Ziggler in Stand & Deliver, his experience watching WrestleMania, his will to headline WrestleMania one day, and beating Dolph Ziggler in the center of the ring to bring the NXT Championship back to NXT. After an emotional reflection from Breakker, IMPERIUM made their way to the ring. Gunther told Breakker that nobody cares about his story, and only cares about that title. He told Breakker that he cannot call himself the best without defeating Gunther. Breakker told Gunther that if he wanted a match, he was going to get it during the show. The Creed Brother came out to the ramp before abruptly going to commercial break.

The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) vs IMPERIUM (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel).

After the commercial break, Creed Brothers controlled the offense of Marcel Barthel before Fabian Aichner tagged in and started to work on the arm of Brutus Creed.. Aichner hit a series of uppercuts on Brutus before going for a powerslam on Brutus, but Brutus escaped before being shoulder tackled by Aichner. Barthel tagged back in, but Brutus hit a neck breaker on Barthel before tagging in his brother Julius. Julius did an overhead suplex ON Barthel. Aichner tagged in and hit a Fireman's Carry Slam. Aichner hit an around the world back breaker on Julius Creed before tagging in Barthel. The Creed Brothers hit a series of knees on Barthel. Barthel hit an inseguri kick on Brutus. IMPERIUM double-teamed Brutus before Brutus sent Aichner. Barthel hit a bodyslam on Brutus before the commercial break.

Brutus did a takedown on Aichner, but he fell on his knee and Barthel focused his offense on the knee. Barthel tagged in and hit a ground knee strike on Brutus. Barthel hit an inseguri in the corner on Brutus before hitting a suplex on Brutus. Barthel tagged in and connected a modified sleeper choke. Brutus escaped the hold, but Barthel caught the injured leg of Brutus to do a modified leg-lock on Brutus.

Back from the picture in picture break, Brutus hit a side suplex on Barthelin an attempt to tag in Julius. Julius tagged in and hit a series of lariats and dropkicks on Imperium before hitting a chop block on Barther before doing a powerbomb suplex on Julius. Julius was put upside down before being kicked by Aichner. Barthel walked out of the match after a miscommunication, which led to an overhead throw into a Torture Rack Slam. Julius Creed ended proceedings by hitting the Unnecessary Clothesline on Barthel for the pinfall victory.

After the match, two masked men hit the Creed Brothers with steel chairs from behind. The masked men took their masks off and revealed that it was former NXT UK Tag Team Champions, Pretty Deadly.

Winners: The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) (w/ Malcolm Bivens).

- Backstage, Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, and Jacy Jayne were interviewed. They stated that they were going to regain their NXT Women's Tag Team Championships, as well as end the careers of Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez. Rose finished the interview by saying that they are The Attraction.

- After the commercial break, the new NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes made his way to the ring after winning the title in a Five-Way Ladder Match. Grimes told the crowd that they did it, following up by saying that his dad is proud because his boy did it. He stated that time stood still when he won the title, being thankful for his father for molding him to be the man that he is. Grimes continued to say that he worked for the past three years to become a WWE Champion, and that he was going to do everything to hold the title with pride.

Solo Sikoa interrupted Grimes to congratulate him for his win on Stand & Deliver. He told him that now comes the hard part and hold on to the belt, stating that championships run all over his bloodline. Sikoa respectfully challenged Grimes for the title, which Grimes respectfully accepted his challenge. Sikoa pulled Grimes closer to him, with Grimes saying that is what he wanted to see.

- Joe Gacy cut a promo alongside Harland, saying that if you don't have family, it only leads to self-destruction. After this package, Draco Anthony told Xyon Quinn that he did not need him to tell him what to do. Quinn told that he needs to be taught some respect, before Anthony left the locker room.

- There was a segment showing #Dusia (Duke Hudson & Persia Perotta) and #InDex (Indi Hartwell & Dexter Lumis) seeing who was the hottest cowboy couple. #InDex won, which lead to a confrontation between the four. This lead to the announcement of the match of Dexter Lumis vs Duke Hudson to be scheduled for after the commercial break.

- Tiffany Stratton was interviewed backstage, saying that she was not a loser in repeated occasions after Sarray cost her the match against Ivy Nile on the March 29, 2022 edition of NXT.

Dexter Lumis (w/ Indi Hartwell) vs Duke Hudson (w/ Persia Perotta)

Prior to the match, Persia Perotta kissed Duke hudson to motivate him. Hudson began the match by hitting a series of punches on Lumis. Lumis did a Thesz Press on Hudson. Lumis did a roll-up on Hudson, but Hudson caught Lumis with a Uranage. Hudson stomped down Lumis before hitting Lumis with an elbow strike for a near fall. Hudson did a S-Grip headlock on Lumis while pressuring the back of Lumis with his knee before transitioning to a side headlock. Lumis escaped the headlock by hitting a belly-to-back suplex on Hudson before doing a kick-up/ leg drop combination. Lumis did a clothesline/bulldog combination on Hudson for a near fall, assisted by Hartwell pushing Hudson's leg off the rope. Hudson and Lumis did a tug of war on the turnbuckle, but both wrestlers got it in the head for the count-out tie.

Result: No Contest

- NXT Women's Tag Team Champions, Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai, were backstage talking about Toxic Attraction, with Gonzalez stating that they will become the most dominant force in NXT again.

- Backstage, Marcel Barthel sounded irrate after Fabian Aichner leave him alone during the match earlier in the night. Gunther told him to keep his head up as they, Aichner included, have to focus on more important stuff like Gunther winning the NXT Championship.

NXT Women's Tag Team Championship Match

Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne) vs Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai (c)

The match began with Jayne and Raquel in the ring, with Raquel pushing Jayne. Jayne attempted a sleeper hold, which led to Dolin tagging in and hitting a series of kicks before being slammed with a variant of the Tour of The Islands. Kai tagged in and hit an assisted stomp, a series of arm-drags, a roll-up, and a drop-kick for a near fall on Dolin. Jayne tagged in and kicked Kai, before hitting a lariat on Kai after tagging in Dolin. Jayne tagged in and hit an Irish whip on the corner on Kai. Dolin tagged back in and hit a series of punches on Kai before tagging in Jayne. Jayne missed a strike on Kai, which led to Kai tagging in Raquel. Gonzalez hit a fall-away slam on Jayne. Gonzalez went to the top turnbuckle, but she was caught by Jayne and was hit in the back of her injured leg before the commercial break.

After the commercial break, Gonzalez sent Jayne out of the ring before tagging in Dakota Kai, who hit a Scorpion Kick, followed by the Running boot for a near fall. Kai hit the Coup de Kai, followed by Gonzalez hitting a Senton for a pinfall, but it was broken up by Jayne. Gonzalez threw Jayne out of the ring. Jayne tagged back in and hit a neck breaker on Kai, kicked Gonzlez in the injured leg, followed by a Superkick for a near fall. Dolin hit a clothesline for a pinfall attempt, but Gonzalez broke the pin. Gonzalez hit a big boot with her injured leg on Jayne, leaving with all four layin in the floor. Gonzalez went for a bodyslam, but she was caught with a stunner by Dolin. Wendy Choo came out to ringside, but Mandy Rose pushed Choo on the apron. Dolin was caught by Gonzalez for a Chingona Bomb position, but Jayne hit a chop block on the injured leg of Gonzalez. Toxic Attraction hit the Toxic Shock (Total Elimination) for Jayne to pick up the pinfall victory, crowning new NXT Women's Tag Team Champions.

Winners and New NXT Women's Tag Team Champions: Toxic Attraction (Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolin).

- Backstage, there was another backstage vignette from Joe Gacy asking an interesting question: "What happens when Chaos takes over you?".

- AJ Galante introduced Tony D'Angelo to do a celebration, after D'Angelo defeated Tommasso Ciampa on Stand & Deliver. D'Angelo stated that what happened on April 2, 2022, but it was going to be better on this episode. Tony D'Angelo did the blood oath on an NXT labeled card, which led to AJ Galante telling a fan to shut up. Galante asked Tony D'Angelo if he was ready to take this honor, D'Angelo accepted. AFter two kisses in the cheek, AJ Galante named D'Angelo as The Don of NXT.

- MSK (Wes Lee & ) were seen backstage celebrating that they are the new NXT Tag Team Champions, saying that they were up for a challenge against anyone that come in their way. Grayson Waller and Sanga interrupted to challenge MSK to a match in the future, which MSK accepted for a later date.

- Dakota Kai threw everything she saw backstage, then got close to the camera and told Mandy Rose that she was not safe.

Nikkita Lyons vs Lash Legend.

The match began with Legend and Lyons locking up, with Lyons doing a wrist lock. They both came down before doing stereo kick-ups and staring each other down. Lyons hit a clothesline on Legend. Legend hit a pump-kick on Lyons before hitting a jumping elbow for a near fall. Legend did a knee-assisted headlock on Lyons, following it up with a clothesline. Legend hit a cartwheel moonsault for a near fall on Lyons. Lyons hit a German Suplex on Legend to leave both wrestlers laying. Lyons and Legend hit a series of strikes before Lyons hit a round-house kick on Legend. Lyons got Legend on the top turnbuckle before connecting a Superplex for a near fall. Lyons hit a Karate Kick before hitting Legend with the Split-Leg drop for the pinfall victory.

Winner: Nikkita Lyons.

- Backstage, AJ Galante and Tony D'Angelo were encountered by Santos Escobar and Legado Escobar. Escobar warned D'Angelo to keep his business out Legado's business and everything will be fine. Galante looked at D'Angelo and asked "who is this guy?".

- After the commercial break, there was a video package showing Kushida having multiple replacement jackets for Ikeman Jiro, challenging Von Wagner to a match coming soon.

NXT Championship Match

Gunther vs Bron Breakker (c)

The match began with Gunther and Breakker lacing hands before locking up. Gunther got Breakker in a sleeper hold, but Breakker escaped and got Gunther in a side headlock. Breakker got Gunther in another side headlock on the ground, but Gunther sent him to the ropes before being hit with a chop by Gunther. Breakker ran the ropes before being hit with a big boot from Gunther. Gunther hit a chop to the back of Breakker before kicking the shoulder of Breakker. Gunther did an uppercut on Breakker, but Breakker sent him to the corner to spear him. Gunther tried to do a leap frog, but he caught Gunther with a slam. Breakker escaped a sleeper hold before hitting a spear on Gunther. Breakker went for the powerlift bodyslam, but he separated his shoulder. After the referee checked on Breakker, he got hit with a vicious chop from Gunther before the picture-in-picture break.

During the picture-in-picture break, Gunther stomped Breakker on the groundbefore sending him to the corner, with extra-impact on the shoulder of Breakker. Gunther did a Arm-to-back stretch on Breakker to add emphasis on Breakker's injured arm. Breakker powered-off the stretch, but he got hit with a headbutt to his back. Gunther continued to stretch Breakker's arm, but Breakker continued to punch Gunther. Gunther did three chops on Breakker to take him down, but Breakker caught the fourth. Breakker did a German suplex on Gunther before hitting a clothesline on him. Breakker went for a suplex, but Gunther hit a chop on Breakker's shoulder before locking in a Kimura Lock. Breakker broke up the lock by hitting a Bodyslam, followed by an Overhead suplex. Gunther did a dropkick on Breakker, followed by a Powerbomb for a near fall. Gunther did a Frog Splash on Breakker, but Breakker kicked out again. Gunthe rhit forearms strikes to the chest before hitting a chop to the back. Gunther did a clothesline for a near fall. Gunther went to the top rope for another splash, but he got caught in a Spear from Breakker. Breakker got hit with a series of chops from Gunther, getting caught in a sleeper hold by Gunther. Breakker broke up the Sleeper Hold with a Chin Breaker, completing the Powerlift Powerslam for the pinfall victory, giving Gunther his second loss in singles competition in WWE and retaining the NXT Championship.

After the match, Rick Steiner made his first WWE appearance in since the November 4, 1994 edition of Monday Night Raw, being kidnapped by Joe Gacy and Harland. Gacy told breaker that he was going to see if he can teach an old dog some new tricks. The show ended with the screen going to black.
