Hey there Fight Fans, get ready to strap in for two hours of NXT as we review the year that was and end the show with a huge rematch!
-We have highlights of the inaugural NXT North American Championship match which happened to be a six man ladder match in which Adam Cole won to become the first champion. We then get highlights of Ricochet subsequently winning the title from Adam several months later.
-We get a video package for Dakota Kai, Lars Sullivan, NXT UK Women's champion Rhea Ripley, War Raiders, Lacey Evans, EC3 and Bianca Belair three of which are being called up to the main roster in the coming weeks.
-We get an extended video package of the nearly year long rivalry between Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa and their unsanctioned match as well as Ciampa's title defense against Johnny.
-We get highlights of Andrade Almas's title defense against Aleister Black in which Black won to become the new champion before Almas moved up to Smackdown! Live. We then have the title match between the champion Ciampa and challenger Black in which Ciampa retained and the subsequent attack on Black by Johnny Gargano.
-We get a video package for the main event of tonight's show showcasing the feud between Kassius Ohno and Matt Riddle.
-We get a video package for the nominees for NXT Tag Team of the Year featuring Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch, Street Profits, Heavy Machinery, Moustache Mountain, War Raiders and Undisputed Era. We then get highlights of Undisputed Era's time as NXT Tag Team champions.
-We get the nominees for the Rivalry of Year featuring Andrade Almas and Johnny Gargano, Shayna Baszler and Ember Moon, Moustache Mountain and Undisputed Era, Kairi and Shayna and more.
-Next we get nominees for Future Star of the Year featuring Matt Riddle, Keith Lee, Mia Yim, Forgotten Sons, Candice LeRae, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke, Kona Reeves, Dominick Dijakovic and Io Shirai.
-We get the nominees for Male Performer of the Year featuring Adam Cole,NXT UK champion Pete Dunne, Andrade Almas, NXT North American champion Ricochet, Velveteen Dream, Johnny Gargano, Aleister Black, and reigning NXT champion Tommaso Ciampa. We next get the Female Performer of the Year nominees featuring RAW alum Ember Moon, Nikki Cross, Kairi Sane, Bianca Belair and NXT Women's champion Shayna Baszler.
Matt Riddle vs Kassius Ohno
Matt backs Ohno into the corner and kicks him before hitting a fall away slam into a senton. Ohno drops Matt with a right hand and hits a release suplex before rocking Matt with a stiff forearm and stomping him in the corner. Ohno drops Matt in the corner with a boot before hitting a snapmare into a rolling senton for a quick two count. Ohno drops Matt with another boot and locks in a cravat before dropping Matt with a knee to the midsection. Matt comes back with open hand palm strikes before hitting a dead lift bridging German suplex for a two count.
Matt kicks Ohno until he catches one and bends his toe before hitting a cyclone kick for a near fall. Matt comes back with palm strikes and a roundhouse kick before Ohno drops him and hits several running sentons. Matt then catches Ohno when he goes for a third senton and forces Ohno to tap with the Bromission for the win.
Winner: Matt Riddle defeats Kassius Ohno via submission with the Bromission.
-After the match Matt tries to reconcile with Ohno and Ohno sends him into the ring post, barricade and the steps twice as we go off the air with Ohno laying Matt out with a discus forearm.
