WWE Raw 6/22/20 Results: 3 Title Matches, While Dolph Ziggler & Rey Mysterio Make Their Raw Returns

Yuya Uemura Wins KOPW Championship At 4/27 NJPW Road To Wrestling Dontaku

- WWE Champion Drew McIntyre makes his way to the ring, McIntyre says tonight is “Championship Monday.” McIntyre talks about defending his title last week on WWE Raw in a tag team match, Dolph Ziggler interrupts and makes his way to the ring. Ziggler says he is a part of Raw after AJ Styles was traded to WWE Smackdown, Ziggler says Robert Roode is also a part of the trade. Ziggler says nobody is happier than him to see McIntyre as WWE Champion, Ziggler talks about how he brought McIntyre back to the WWE after he was fired. Ziggler says that McIntyre is WWE Champion because of him, Ziggler challenges McIntyre to a WWE Title Match at WWE Extreme Rules ’20. McIntyre says that Ziggler has been losing a lot without him watching his back, McIntyre says Ziggler has become an entitled jackass. McIntyre questions whether or not Ziggler actually wants the match, McIntyre then accepts the challenge from Ziggler.

- Nia Jax makes her way to the ring with a steel chair in hand, Jax brings the chair in the ring and she takes a seat as we go to a commercial break.

- Nix Jax is still sitting after the commercial break and she says Charlotte Flair got exactly what she wanted by facing Asuka, Jax says she was cheated out of her title shots at WWE Backlash and last week’s Raw. WWE 24/7 Champion R-Truth interrupts and makes his way to the ring, R-Truth says Jax must be confused because she is in the ring instead of his upcoming challenger in Akira Tozawa. R-Truth wonders if Jax is actually Tozawa, Tozawa appears behind the announce table and his ninjas chase R-Truth backstage. Flair interrupts and she makes her way to the ring, Flair says that Jax squandered her title shots and has dropped the ball. Jax brings up the fact that Charlotte is Ric Flair’s daughter, Flair talks about all she has accomplished on her own in the WWE. Jax says that Flair has never beaten her in a one on one match, Jax says that Flair has been building her legacy by beating easy targets. Flair gets angry and she attacks Jax, a brawl breaks out between them both and WWE officials hit the ring to break everything up.

- A video package airs highlighting the feud between The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders.

- The Street Profits are backstage and they talk about the rivalry with The Viking Raiders, The Viking Raiders interrupt and Montez Ford talks about how they all became friends throughout the rivalry. Both teams agree to put that friendship aside in tonight’s title match, Zelina Vega appears as both teams leave the backstage area.

WWE Raw Tag Team Championships
The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) (c) vs. The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar)

The match begins with Ivar getting Dawkins in a headlock, Dawkins gets free and he misses a drop kick attempt. Ivar then nails Dawkins with a spinning head kick, Erik tags in and he nails Dawkins with a knee strike before dropping Ivar on top of him for a near fall. Dawkins fights back and he tags Ford into the match, Ford knocks Erik out of the ring with a drop kick. Ford goes for a suicide dive and Erik catches him before power bombing him into Dawkins as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Ivar working over Ford’s arm. Ivar corners Ford before attacking him with some strikes, Erik tags in and Ford escapes to tag Dawkins in. Dawkins quickly starts cleaning house against the opposing team, Ford tags in and The Street Profits hit Erik with The Viking Experience for a near fall. Ivar knocks Dawkins out of the ring while Ford battles Erik, Erik cracks Ford with a right before tagging Ivar in. Ivar nails a dazed Ford with a handspring back elbow strike, Ford recovers and he nails Ivar with an enziguri. Dawkins and Erik are tagged in by their respective partners, Erik nails both opponents with a front slam/power bomb combination. Ivar tags in and he misses a top rope splash on Dawkins, Dawkins then hits Erik with a spear while The Street Profits hit Ivar with The Cash Out for a three count.

Winners: The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins), still the Raw Tag Team Champions

After the match, Angel Garza and Andrade attack The Street Profits until The Viking Raiders make the save.

- Seth Rollins is backstage with Austin Theory and Murphy, Rollins says he has a message for Rey Mysterio.

- Highlights are shown of Dominick Mysterio attacking Seth Rollins’ on last weeks Raw.

- Seth Rollins is backstage again and he says we are sometimes destined for roles that are not our choices, Rollins says he didn’t choose to become the Monday Night Messiah and Rey Mysterio didn’t choose to become a sacrifice. Rollins says he accepted his role while Mysterio didn’t, Rollins says whatever happens to Mysterio and his son is all on Mysterio.

- Charlotte Flair is approached by Charly Caruso after leaving the trainers room, Flair says tonight’s title match will not be postponed.

- Charly Caruso finds Andrade, Angel Garza and Zelina Vega backstage, Garza says you have to take risks to get what you want. Vega interrupts and she says her clients are united again, Andrade says they will win the Raw Tag Team Titles.

Raw Women’s Championship
Asuka (c) vs. Charlotte Flair

The match begins with Flair getting Asuka in a headlock, Asuka gets free and Flair drops her with a shoulder tackle. Flair then kicks a downed Asuka in the head, Flair corners Asuka before kicking and stomping away on her. Asuka fights back and she attacks the injured shoulder of Flair, Flair cracks Asuka with forearm strikes and Asuka sends her shoulder first into the mat below. Flair avoids a hip attack and she nails Asuka with a right, Asuka knocks Flair to the arena floor after smashing her injured arm on the top rope. Asuka then hits Flair with a sliding head kick from the ring apron, Asuka crashes to the arena floor after missing a missile drop kick from the ring apron. Flair gets Asuka back in the ring to get a near fall on a pin attempt, Flair applies the head scissors to a downed Asuka. Flair releases the hold and she goes to the top rope, Flair lands a her feet during a moonsault attempt. Flair sends Asuka out of the ring afterwards as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Flair choking Asuka while holding her along the top rope. Flair corners Asuka before attacking her with a plethora of strikes, Asuka fights back and she nails Flair with a release German suplex. Asuka then attacks the injured arm of Flair with a series of kicks, Flair recovers and she kicks Asuka in the face.

Flair goes for a spear and Asuka sends her into the middle turnbuckle, Asuka catches Flair in an arm bar and Flair gets to the ropes. Flair fights back and she nails Asuka with a chop block, Flair follows up by nailing Asuka with a spear for a near fall. Flair looks for a figure four and Asuka counters with a roll up, Asuka goes for another arm bar and she transitions to a triangle choke. Flair gets free after nailing Asuka with a sit out power bomb, Asuka catches Flair in the Asuka Lock and a tap out follows.

Winner: Asuka, still the Raw Women’s Champion

- Charly Caruso interviews Nia Jax, who says it would be a shame if someone kicked Charlotte Flair while she is down.

- Highlights are shown of what went down last week between Randy Orton, Edge, Christian and Ric Flair.

- Edge appears and he doesn’t think that Randy Orton proved he was the better wrestler at WWE Backlash, Edge says that he felt Orton panicking and that’s why he landed the low blow during their match. Edge talks about watching Orton celebrating his win last week on WWE Raw, Edge says he is disappointed in how things played out at WWE Backlash. Edge says he has to wake up a side of himself that has been dormant for way too long, Edge talks about Orton punting Christian on last weeks Raw. Edge says he will sink to any level to get what he wants, Edge says he doesn’t care about winning a wrestling match anymore. Edge says he will make Orton wish he was never born, Edge says Orton and his family knows what is coming. Edge says he will tear Orton’s life apart from the inside out, Edge says Orton has no idea what he has done because he has woken up the evil and the Rated R Superstar.

- Charly Caruso interviews Randy Orton, who says a snake will strike when it is backed into a corner and he says he struck Edge and Christian to defend his family and livelihood. Orton says that he hopes Edge and Christian reach a full recovery, Orton tells them both to stay far away from him.

- Charly Caruso interviews Charlotte Flair, who says she isn’t happy to have lost to Asuka. Nia Jax attacks her from behind and she further injures her arm, Jax smashes a dumpster lid onto the injured arm of Flair.

- Bobby Lashley and MVP crash the upcoming match between R-Truth and Akira Tozawa, Lashley and MVP destroy the ninjas. Lashley attacks R-Truth and he applies the full nelson to him, Tozawa returns and he pins R-Truth to win the WWE 24/7 Championship.

- Sarah Schreiber interviews Natalya, who talks about the status of the Raw Women’s Division and it needs leadership from her. Natalya says she has an announcement to make tonight and she’ll make it after her match with Liv Morgan.

Liv Morgan vs. Natalya w/Lana

The match begins with Morgan getting Natalya in a headlock, Natalya gets free and she drops Morgan with a shoulder block. Natalya then hits Morgan with a discus clothesline for a near fall, Natalya traps Morgan in the corner while stomping away on her. Natalya looks for a back breaker and Morgan gets to the ropes, Natalya then knocks Morgan to the arena floor. Morgan fights back and she drops Natalya with a head scissors on the arena floor, Morgan gets Natalya back in the ring and Lana distracts her. Natalya nails Morgan with a chop block, Natalya gets Morgan in the sharp shooter and Morgan taps out.

Winner: Natalya w/Lana

- Charly Caruso interviews Big Show, who talks about the ninjas invading WWE Raw and how he battled them last week. Show says he is here tonight and he will head to the ring as a heartless, angry giant.

- Ric Flair his way to the ring as we go to a commercial break.

- Ric Flair is in the ring and he says Charlotte Flair will get revenge on Nia Jax when she returns, Flair talks about who is the greatest performer of all time and he names Randy Orton as that person. Flair then brings Orton out to the ring, Flair calls Orton the most dominant performer in the WWE before declaring him as such. Orton says that some people confuse nostalgia with legacy, Orton talks about what he and Flair did to Christian last week. Orton says he has cemented his legacy after what he did to Edge and Christian, Big Show interrupts and makes his way to the ring. Show says he won’t let Flair and Orton glorify what has gone down in the last week, Show says he’ll make Orton pay for what he did. Show also says that he used to have respect for Flair, Show says Orton lacked the self discipline and motivation to make himself better. Show says he’ll take Orton out before Edge does, Orton talks about his friendship with Show before calling him a future hall of famer and a legend. Orton says that Show could suffer the same fate as Edge and Christian, Show challenges Orton and Orton leaves the ring. Orton says whatever happens to Show next is on him.

- Sasha Banks and Bayley are shown backstage.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships
Bayley & Sasha Banks (c) vs. The IIconics (Billie Kay & Peyton Royce)

The match begins with Kay kicking Banks right in the face as the bell rang for a near fall, Royce tags in and Bayley drags her out of the ring. Bayley throws Royce into the announce table before double teaming Kay in the ring, Royce distracts Bayley and Kay attacks her from behind. Royce cracks Bayley with a knee strike as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Kay dropping Bayley with some strikes. Kay then accidentally throws Bayley into Royce, Bayley then hits a cornered Kay with an avalanche before Royce tags in. Royce nails Bayley with a fisherman suplex for a near fall, Banks hits the ring and Royce gets her out of it. Bayley gets up and she cracks Royce with a few strikes, Banks tags in and she double teams Royce with Bayley for a near fall. Banks follows up by nailing Royce with a series of suplexes, Royce escapes an attempt and she shoves Banks into Bayley for a near fall. Banks gets Royce in a Bank Statement after a Kay miscue and a tap out follows.

Winners: Bayley & Sasha Banks, still the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions

After the match, Bayley and Sasha Banks get the microphone to brag about their win, Banks says she is jealous of Bayley holding two titles simultaneously. Banks then challenges Asuka for the Raw Women’s Championship at WWE Extreme Rules, Asuka makes her way to the ring and she accepts the challenge. Bayley and Banks attack Asuka and Banks gets Asuka in the Bank Statement.

- Sarah Schreiber interviews MVP and Bobby Lashley, Lashley says it is R-Truth’s fault that he isn’t the WWE Champion. MVP says that Lashley is free of distractions now and he promises to help out Apollo Crews as well, MVP says he could help Crews become one of the greatest WWE United States Champions ever.

- Ruby Riott approaches Liv Morgan backstage, Morgan is upset and she believes Riott wants to make her feel worse before storming off.

- MVP is in the ring for another edition of the VIP Lounge, MVP then brings out WWE United States Champion Apollo Crews as his guest. MVP says it feels right to have Crews in the VIP Lounge, MVP talks about the respect he has gained for Crews. MVP says he wants to help Crews in his professional wrestling career, Crews talks about all he has accomplished without MVP’s help and he turns MVP down again. Crews says neither MVP or being champion will change who he is, MVP says the WWE United States Championship will come back to him. Shelton Benjamin comes out to confront Crews and he attacks Crews after an MVP distraction, Benjamin then sends Crews into the ring post.

Apollo Crews vs. Shelton Benjamin

The match is joined in progress and we see Crews nailing Benjamin with a few strikes, Benjamin traps Crews in the ropes before landing a head kick for a near fall. Benjamin focuses his attack on the arm of Crews, Benjamin then sends Crews shoulder first into the top turnbuckle. Crews fights back and he nails Benjamin with a drop kick, Crews goes for a standing moonsault and Benjamin counters with an arm bar. Crews gets free and he knocks him and Benjamin out of the ring, Benjamin goes for an avalanche and he crashes into the ring post. Crews gets Benjamin in the ring and he nails him with an enziguri, Crews then hits Benjamin with a toss power bomb for a three count.

Winner: Apollo Crews

After the match, MVP distracts Apollo Crews so Bobby Lashley can attack him from behind.

- Rey and Dominick Mysterio are shown backstage.

- Rey and Dominick Mysterio come to the ring, Rey talks about Dominick’s attack on Seth Rollins last week on Raw. Rey says he is proud and angry at Dominick for what happened last week, Rey says it is his turn to fight for Dominick and he says that he wants revenge on Seth Rollins. Rey says he wants to get revenge by himself and Dominick says he isn’t going anywhere, Rollins interrupts and he comes out to the stage. Rollins says Dominick and Rey have put him in a very interesting position, Rollins says it is fate and prophecy that brought them all together. Murphy and Austin Theory join Rollins as they make their way to the ring, Humberto Carrillo and Aleister Black come out to attack Theory and Murphy. A huge brawl breaks out between everybody and Carrillo takes out Murphy and Theory with a suicide dive, everybody gangs up on Rollins as the Mysterio’s tries destroying his eye until Murphy and Theory make the save. Rollins gets Dominick before getting chased off by Black and Carrillo.
