WWE RAW Results (8/22/22): Edge Competes, Trish Stratus Returns, Tag Title Tourney Semi-Final, More

We will be bringing you the full results of tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw. On tonight's episode, the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship tournament continues with semifinal action. Also, Edge returns home to Toronto for a match with Damian Priest. Additionally, Trish Stratus returns to give WWE fans in her hometown some Stratusfaction!

- WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Tournament: Alexa Bliss and Asuka vs. IYO SKY and Dakota Kai

- Edge vs. Damian Priest

- The show started off with chaos as we got a first-person view of a cameraman rushing to the back in order to capture footage of Seth Rollins brawling with Matt Riddle. They brawled into the audience and eventually fought their way all the way to ringside before being separated.

- The pyro then officially went off and the show started with Trish Stratus making her way to the ring, saying she's been giving a lot of thought to something before Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY came out to interrupt her.

Bayley and company reminded Trish Stratus that she is the past and they're the now. Bianca came out to assist Trish. Trish hinted at potentially wanting to fight Bayley. Asuka and Alexa Bliss came out and shortly thereafter the Women's Tag Team Championship Tournament semifinal match began.

WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Tournament: Alexa Bliss and Asuka vs. IYO SKY and Dakota Kai

Early on, the babyfaces had the advantage with IYO and Dakota playing chicken heading into the first commercial break.

The match would be back-and-forth, including Asuka nearly winning with the octopus stretch before SKY broke it up. but would come to an end when IYO was able to give a blind tag to Dakota Kai. Asuka, unaware, put the Asuka Lock on Dakota and even though she tapped, it did not matter. SKY was able to get the victory with a roll up from behind.

Winners: Dakota Kai & IYO SKY by pinfall.

Backstage, Dolph Ziggler is confronted by Finn Bálor. Finn accuses Dolph of being like Edge and taking advantage of younger talent. Dolph Ziggler rightly accuses him of being ridiculous because they're nearly identical in age. Ziggler slaps Finn Bálor to the floor and invite him to come out to the ring instead of laying on the ground "like a little bitch."

Finn Balor has a new theme song. Dolph Ziggler got a near fall with the Zig Zag after escaping the Coup de Grace. Ultimately, Finn Balor was able to hit the 1916 and a successful Coupe de Grace.

- Backstage, Bayley agrees to wrestle Aliyah after some pressure courtesy of Trish Stratus. Also, Adam Pearce has security looking for Dexter Lumis

- Alpha Academy comes out and announces they are accepting new students and their search begins tonight. Chad Gable then goes on to insult Canada. Chad Gable then announces he's hosting an open challenge. He then asks for Toronto's best.

Kevin Owens, who is from the province of Quebec and not Ontario, answers the challenge. Canada goes crazy.

Kevin Owens vs. Chad Gable (w/ Otis)

Kevin Owens is wearing gear reminiscent of his NXT debut. Chad Gable does his best to try to get an advantage. Notably, Chad Gable was able to hit a T-bone suplex on the outside of the ring and a German suplex on the ring apron going into a commercial break. Kevin Owens was able to hit a Frog Splash and a Top Rope Fisherman Buster. In the end, he got the win with a Pop-Up Powerbomb

Winner: Kevin Owens by pinfall.

- After the match, Otis tries to jump Kevin Owens, and was able to save Chad Gable from taking an Apron Powerbomb, but Otis gets a Stone Cold Stunner for his trouble and Chad Gable gets Powerbombed onto Otis.

- The Judgment Day cut a promo about beating up The Mysterios and being ready to retire Edge.

Aliyah vs. Bayley

Aliyah tried her best and even hit a wheelbarrow Bulldog on the outside but ultimately, Bayley remained in control and hit the Rose Plant for the victory.

Winner: Bayley by pinfall.

- AJ Styles and Bobby Lashley are getting ready for their tag team match against The Miz and Tommaso Ciampa. Meanwhile, Adam Pearce still has security looking for Dexter Lumis and they appear to be putting out a fire backstage.

The match goes back and forth for quite some time until it makes its way to the outside. While outside, a hooded figure, believed to be Dexter Lumis was apprehended meanwhile, the real Dexter Lumis appeared Behind The Miz and dragged him away with no security to stop him. This ended the match, but after the match, AJ Styles hit a Phenomenal Forearm on Ciampa and Bobby Lashley would hit a Spear, before celebrating with AJ.

Winner: No contest as no winner was announced.

- A vignette airs for Edge vs. Damian Priest

Back from commercial break and Johnny Gargano officially announced that he was returning to WWE. he said that he has always dreamed of being at WrestleMania and what kind of father would he be if he didn't show his son that the biggest dreams can come true. Austin Theory came out. He quickly turned on Johnny and said that now, he's living Johnny's dream but offered Johnny to hit him with a high five. Johnny, instead, hit him with a superkick.

Edge vs. Damian Priest

Both men gave it their best shot, Priests even put Edge through a table and tried to beat him with an Unprettier. Edge utilized the Glasgow grin but Damien tried to beat him by using a metal bar from a steel chair, that did not work. Edge eventually hit a Canadian Destroyer and then a Canadian Spear for the Canadian victory. After the match, Beth Phoenix defended Edge from an attack by Judgment Day.

Winner: Edge by pinfall.
