WWE Smackdown on FOX Results for 7/10/20 Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match

Good evening Fight Fans and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!

- We open tonight's show with Miz TV where Miz and John introduce their guest, Jeff Hardy. Jeff comes out to the ring and they show a video package recapping Jeff's feud with Sheamus before Miz and John mock Jeff who threatens them. Miz tells Jeff that he's his daughter's favorite wrestler and that he doesn't want her to put faith in someone who will self destruct again and let her down. Miz says that Jeff's loss to Sheamus must be eating at him before Jeff says that it's going to take a lot more than taunts from Sheamus to break him down again. Jeff then admits that the loss to Sheamus eats at him and that he has to put an end to Sheamus and put his past behind him before saying that he's going to help fans who struggle with addiction and show them that change is possible. Miz says that Jeff needs to face Sheamus in a bar fight before Jeff says that he's never going back to where he was and that he's going to take Sheamus out in the bar fight and that he's on his way to success once more. Jeff then challenges both Miz and Morrison to a match before attacking both of them and clearing the ring before Jeff clears the ring of chairs as we go to commercial.

Jeff Hardy vs The Miz

Miz immediately ducks out of the ring when Jeff goes out after him as soon as the bell rings before Jeff drops and takes Miz down with a side headlock take over once Miz is back inside. Miz sends Jeff over the top rope and knees him with Jeff trapped in the ropes before sweeping his feet out and sending Jeff down onto the edge of the apron. Back in the Miz kicks Jeff in the ribs and hits a kitchen sink into a boot for two before driving his knee into Jeff's spine and Jeff catches Miz coming off of the top and hits a Twist of Fury. John then helps Miz avoid the Swanton Bomb once Jeff goes up top and drags him out of the ring before Jeff hits a diving cross body that takes out both Miz and Morrison at ringside as we go to commercial.

Jeff is in control as we come back to the action before John pulls Jeff off of the apron and Miz hits a dropkick through the ropes before sending Jeff into the announce table and the plexiglass at ringside. Miz rolls Jeff back into the ring and hits a running knee lift before rolling back inside and snapping Jeff's throat into the second rope. Miz hits a series of running knees into a clothesline in the corner before Jeff catches him when he goes for a springboard and Miz counters the Twist of Fate into a DDT for two. Miz kicks Jeff in the chest and rocks him with left hands before Jeff hits a jawbreaker and an inverted atomic drop into a basement dropkick and a jumping splash for two. They counter each other's finishers before Jeff gets a near fall and knocks Morrison off of the apron before Jeff climbs to the top and gets distracted by Sheamus on the big screen. Miz then tries to roll Jeff up before Jeff counters and pins Miz for the win.

Winner: Jeff Hardy defeats The Miz via pinfall.

- We get a backstage interview with Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro ahead of their tag title challenge against New Day later tonight as we go to commercial.

- Sasha Banks and Bayley come out to the ring for their match against Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss before Cross attacks them as we go to commercial.

Bayley & Sasha Banks vs Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross

Nikki rushes Sasha who backs into the ropes before Sasha drops her and Bayley comes in and covers Nikki for two before yelling at her and smashing her face into the top turnbuckle. Sasha and Bayley kick Nikki in the corner and Bayley sends Nikki out onto the apron before Nikki counters a draping DDT and traps Bayley in the skirt of the apron. Nikki beats on Bayley before rolling her back inside and she and Alexa double up on Bayley for two before Bayley drives Alexa into the corner and Sasha comes in and is almost immediately dropped by Alexa. Nikki then comes in and Alexa knocks Bayley off of the apron before Bayley saves Sasha and Nikki distracts Sasha and Bayley before Alexa hits a double dropkick through the ropes as we go to commercial.

We come back to Bayley in control of Alexa, choking her in the ropes before Alexa counters a suplex into a pin attempt for two before Sasha comes in and rolls Alexa up for two and she and Bayley double team Alexa for another two count. Bayley argues with the referee and backs Alexa into the corner before hitting a catapult into a slap by Sasha for two and Bayley hits a northern lights suplex for two. Nikki comes in and hits a running cross body before hitting Sasha with a bulldog and a tornado DDT, Bayley getting the blind tag and nearly pinning Nikki with a jack knife cover. Nikki hits Bayley with a DDT for a near fall that Sasha breaks up before Sasha sends Alexa into the barricade and Bayley pins Nikki with a leverage pin using the ropes for the win.

Winner: Bayley and Sasha Banks defeat Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss via pinfall.

- We come back from the break to the entirety of the Universal Championship match between Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman from Money in the Bank in which Braun retained the title.

- We get a backstage interview with New Day ahead of their title defense later tonight before we see Lacey Evans getting interrupted by Naomi when she's getting ready for a karaoke showdown up next as we go to commercial.

- We come back from the break to Jey Uso in the ring with Lacey Evans, Naomi, Dana Brooke and Tamina before each of the women take turns singing karaoke with Naomi being declared as the winner. Lacey then attacks Naomi from behind before they're separated as we go to commercial with Jey struggling to keep them from attacking each other.

Lacey takes control immediately before Naomi sends Lacey out of the ring and she gets into an argument with Dana before Tamina tries to get between them and Lacey shoves her away. Dana then gets into the ring and attacks Lacey from behind for the disqualification.

Winner: Lacey Evans defeats Naomi via disqualification.

- After the match Lacey escapes and the referee separates everyone left in the ring before we go backstage.

- We get a backstage interview with Intercontinental champion AJ Styles who addresses Matt Riddle and says that his win over him was a fluke. AJ then says that Matt will be beaten by AJ whenever he faces him again before leaving in disgust.

Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match

New Day (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro

Kofi rushes Shinsuke, but he's ready and beats Kofi down before Cesaro comes in and hits an uppercut before dropping Kofi across the top turnbuckle and Shin and Cesaro isolate Kofi. Kofi then comes back with a dropkick off of the second rope and New Day hit the Unicorn Stomp before Cesaro rolls out of the ring and Kofi goes for a springboard, but Cesaro catches him in midair with an uppercut as we go to commercial.

We return to the ring to Shin and Cesaro in control of Kofi until he fights his way to E after an S.O.S. and E hits Cesaro with several belly to belly suplexes before missing a jumping splash. Cesaro rolls up E when he knocks Shin off of the apron for two before hitting a running uppercut and lays into E with strikes in his own corner before Kofi climbs to the top and hits a meteora off of E's shoulders for a near fall that Shin breaks up. Shin kicks E off of the apron and Kofi rolls Cesaro up for two before Cesaro chokes Kofi in the ropes and Shin kicks him in the spine before becoming the legal man and hitting an exploder suplex for a near fall that E breaks up. Shin and Cesaro then dump E out of the ring before he gets back in and all four men brawl until the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: New Day retain their Smackdown Tag Team titles due to champions advantage after a double disqualification.

- After the match Shin and Cesaro beat New Day down and bring a table into the ring before powerbombing E onto Kofi through the table as we go off the air.
