Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!
- We open tonight's show with a recap of what Seth Rollins did to Edge after their match last week where Edge was loaded into an ambulance.
- We open in the arena with the Universal champion, The Head of the Table Roman Reigns accompanied to the ring by Paul Heyman, and The Usos. Paul gets on the mic and says that Roman fears no man, beast, or demon before questioning why Finn Balor has to channel The Demon to face Roman for the Universal title before saying that Brock fears Roman and has never seen fear in his eyes until last week. Roman and company are next interrupted by the WWE champion Big E before they're interrupted by Finn Balor as we go to commercial.
Finn Balor & Big E vs The Usos
Finn and Jimmy start the match off with Finn focusing on the leg of Jimmy before hitting a basement dropkick for two before E and Jey come in and E hits a splash onto the edge of the apron for two. Jey comes back and the Usos double up on E for two before Jimmy chops E in the corner and mocks Finn before E and Finn double team Jimmy and Finn comes in and stomps Jimmy and knocks Jey off of the apron. Jimmy then sends Finn out of the ring before hitting a suicide dive as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Jimmy in control of Finn before Finn gets the hot tag to E who hits Jey with a series of suplexes and clears the ring before Jey superkicks E for two. Jimmy then comes in and The Usos tease a double team before Finn takes out Jimmy and Finn hits a Coup de Grace at the same time that E hits the Big Ending for the pin and the win.
Winner: Big E and Finn Balor defeat The Usos via pinfall.
- In the locker room Paul tries to convince Roman to trust him and that Brock is dealing with fear and he's dealing with fear through a false narrative that he knew that Brock was coming to Summerslam. Roman then asks Paul if Brock will show up at Extreme Rules before Paul is quick to shut down the idea before Roman asks how he knows before Paul says he assumes Brock's fear would keep him from showing up. Roman then tells Paul that he pays him to know things in advance.
Rick Boogs (w/ King Nakamura) vs Robert Roode (w/ Dolph Ziggler)
Dolph immediately distracts Rick which allows Robert to capitalize and beat Rick down in the corner before Rick counters a whip into one of his own and Robert catches him with a boot before hitting a diving blockbuster for two. Rick then counters the Glorious DDT into a Samoan drop and a slam into a bulldog before hitting the Boogs Cruise for the pin and the win.
Winner: Rick Boogs defeats Robert Roode via pinfall.
- After the match Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez attack and lay out Nakamura and Boogs before Apollo demands a rematch for the Intercontinental title.
- Happy Corbin makes his way into the arena ahead of his match against Kevin Owens up next as we go to commercial.
Happy Corbin vs Kevin Owens
Happy attacks Kevin when he's coming out to the ring before chokeslamming him onto the edge of the apron and leaving.
Winner: Match never started.
- Backstage Paul is walking before he's stopped and interviewed before he turns and sees E who is then attacked by The Usos before Roman comes out from around the corner and looks at their handiwork.
- We go to the ring where Seth explains why he attacked Edge after their match last week and sent him to the hospital where Seth blames the WWE Universe for what he did to Edge. Seth says that the fans goaded Edge into antagonizing Seth until he snapped before saying that he's not done with Edge by a long shot and that actually felt sorry for Edge last week. Seth then says that it's not over until he ends Edge and they have one final match and that he has to finish Edge one way or another.
- We then get a backstage interview with the Smackdown Women's champion Becky Lynch as we go to commercial.
Zelina Vega & Carmella vs Liv Morgan & Toni Storm
Toni and Carmella start the match off before Carmella knocks Liv off of the apron and Liv gets back up and yells at Carmella before Zelina comes in and catches a kick by Toni and chops her. Toni drops Zelina with a boot before Carmella distracts Toni and Zelina capitalizes for two before Toni comes back with a suplex and Liv and Carmella come in, Liv laying into Carmella with strikes before sending her into the corner. Carmella then sends Liv into the corner before Liv hits a back stabber and sends Carmella face first into the top turnbuckle before Carmella gets out of the ring, saying that her nose is broken before she and Zelina are counted out.
Winner: Liv Morgan and Toni Storm defeat Carmella and Zelina Vega via count out.
- We get a backstage promo by The Street Profits who talk about how they're coming for the Smackdown Tag Team titles held by The Usos.
- We get a backstage promo by Finn Balor before we get a video package recapping the history of The Demon.
- Backstage Naomi confronts Sonya Deville about her not giving her a match the past several weeks before getting in her face and yelling at her before backing off and leaving as Sonya looks towards the camera in distress.
Dominik Mysterio vs Sami Zayn
Sami immediately getting out of the ring and yells at Rey on commentary before they get back into the ring and Sami stomps Dominik when he's getting back inside before clotheslining him for two. Dominik comes back with forearms and head scissors before Sami drops him coming in with a boot before getting crotches on the top rope and Dominik dropkicks Sami off of the top rope. Dominik then hits a diving cross body and takes out Sami at ringside as we go to commercial.
We then come back from the break to Dominik in control as he hits a 619 and goes for a diving splash before Sami gets his knees up and pins Dominik for the win.
Winner: Sami Zayn defeats Dominik Mysterio via pinfall.
- We get a video package for Bianca Belair and her return to her home town.
- Kane comes out to the ring dressed like a mayor rather than the Big Red Machine before he introduces Bianca for her homecoming celebration and gives her the key to the county before the two hug. Bianca is then interrupted by Becky who comes out to the ring and mocks Bianca while saying that she's not the real champion, but she's Knoxville's champion before getting into the ring. Becky then tries to get Bianca to shake her hand before Bianca shakes her hand and Becky tries to leave, but Bianca holds onto Becky before Bianca goes for the KOD and Becky counters into the Man Handle Slam before leaving up the ramp.
