WWE Smackdown! Live Results 7/25 Controversy Abounds After WWE Battleground!

This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of WWE Smackdown! Live. After two controversial wins at Battleground this past Sunday night, it goes without saying that WWE World Champion Jinder Mahal will have a lot to say after he enlisted the help of The Great Khali to retain his title. Kevin Owens will also have a lot to say after he managed to defeat AJ Styles and become a three time WWE United States Champion. -Kevin Owens comes out to start the show and talks about winning the United States Championship at Battleground before AJ Styles comes out and asks for a rematch. Chris Jericho comes out to the surprise of everyone in the arena before telling Kevin to be quiet before saying that he is there to get a United States Championship match tonight. Shane McMahon then comes out and makes a triple threat match for the title as tonight's main event as we go to commercial.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Baron Corbin

Shinsuke is in control to start the match before Corbin clotheslines him on the ramp and rolls him back into the ring for a quick two count as we go to commercial.

Corbin is in control as we come back from commercial until Shinsuke comes back with a series of kicks and knees. Shinsuke sets Corbin up on the top rope before hitting his signature double knees in the corner before hitting a single leg missile dropkick off of the top rope for a quick two count. Corbin comes back and hits a backbreaker out of nowhere for a quick two count it his own before hitting Shinsuke with knees on the ground before mocking Shinsuke and playing to the crowd. Corbin hits a Deep Six for a near fall before Shinsuke hits the Kinshasa for the pin and the win.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura via pinfall

Becky Lynch & Charlotte vs Tamina & Lana

Tamina and Becky start it off with Becky in control until Tamina shows off her strength and slams her to the mat for a quick two count. Lana tags in and beats on Becky in the corner before hitting a float over suplex for a quick two count. Lana puts Becky in a straight armbar before she fights out of it, only for Lana to slam her down by her hair for another quick two count. Lana backs Becky in her corner before tagging Tamina back in who stomps on Becky in the corner. Becky tags in Charlotte who takes out both Lana on the apron and Tamina in the ring with a series of kicks and knees for a quick two count.

Tamina then superkicks Charlotte before Lana gets the blind tag, but Charlotte hits her with a boot for the pin and the win.

Winner: Becky Lynch & Charlotte via pinfall

-We get a video package for the Punjabi Prison Match this past Sunday night where Jinder Mahal retained his title with the help of The Great Khali.

-Jinder Mahal comes out to talk about retaining his title before demanding an opponent for Summerslam before John Cena comes out to the ring. Cena goes to talk, but Jinder stops him and says he knows what he's about to say. Cena actually congratulations him and says that he will take the belt at Summerslam and that it was nice to meet him before he starts to leave, but Daniel Bryan interrupts him.

Daniel then goes on to make Shinsuke Nakamura versus Shinsuke Nakamura and the winner will face Jinder Mahal at Summerslam.

Mike Kanellis & Aiden English vs Sami Zayn & Tye Dillinger

Tye is in control to start the match, knocking Aiden down before almost immediately tagging in Sami as we go to commercial.

Aiden is in control as we come back from commercial, a replay showing how he capitalized on a distraction by Mike and Maria during the commercial before tagging in Mike. They tag in and out before Sami comes back with right hands, then sends Aiden out of the ring before tagging Tye in. Tye takes out Aiden and sends him out of the ring before hitting Mike with a series of right hands in the corner. Tye then tags in Sami who hits the Helluva Kick to Mike for the pin and the win.

Winner: Sami Zayn & Tye Dillinger via pinfall

-The Usos come out and attack New Day on the ramp before superkicking them and leaving. We then get an interview segment with Shinsuke Nakamura about his first time facing John Cena, Shinsuke telling Cena that he can't see him before saying that he'll face Jinder.

United States Championship Triple Threat Match

AJ and Chris double team Kevin to start the match before everyone gets quick two counts until AJ is sent out of the ring. Kevin and Chris square off and exchange strikes before Christmas dropkicks him for a one count. Chris counters a suplex by AJ before AJ sends him to the floor right before Kevin turns him inside out with a lariat. Kevin beats on AJ before whipping him hard across the ring sternum first for a quick two count. Kevin knocks Chris off of the apron before hitting a senton to AJ for a quick two count, then a dropkick for another quick two count.

Kevin gets out of the ring and stomps on Chris before getting back in only for AJ to chop him repeatedly. Kevin drops AJ with an elbow for another quick two count before AJ locks in the Calf Killer. Chris then hits a lionsault that breaks it up for a quick two count as we go to commercial.

AJ is in control as we come back from commercial, beating on Kevin in the corner before Chris comes in and is dropped by Kevin. AJ then sends Kevin out of the ring before hitting a 450 splash, Kevin tossing AJ out of the ring before getting a near fall. Chris gets a near fall off of a Code Breaker before Kevin hits a cannonball in the corner, everyone then hitting a move before they all collapse. Chris sends AJ out of the ring before Kevin hits a superkick and a pop-up powerbomb for a very close near fall before Kevin hits a five star frog splash. AJ then tosses Kevin out of the ring before pinning Chris for the win.

Winner: AJ Styles via pinfall
