WWE SmackDown (10/7/2022) Live Coverage.

- Michael Cole & new broadcast member Wade Barrett welcomed the audience to the broadcast before quickly transitioning to the opening segment, with Triple H already in the ring to address the crowd. Triple H welcomed the crowd to the season premiere of Friday Night SmackDown!

- After the introduction from Triple H, WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns walked to the ring with WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso), Solo Sikoa, Sami Zayn & Paul Heyman made their way to the ring to cut a promo. Reigns asked the Worcester, Massachusetts crowd to acknowledge him, which they obliged before Logan Paul interrupted the proceedings. Paul stood on the apron due to the number of people in the ring. Reigns invited Paul to the ring, and he was greeted with "Logan Sucks" chants from the crowd. Reigns told Paul that there were a lot of things they can teach him. Heyman took the microphone and called Paul this generation's Mr. T & Cyndi Lauper due to his popularity and WWE's use to bring more eyes to the product. He said Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, Andrew Tate were contemplating bringing to Saudi Arabia, but then correctly assumed that none of them had the balls to face Roman Reigns. Heyman said that Paul will be smashed by Reigns on Crown Jewel and that it was not a prediction, but a spoiler. Paul asked Heyman if Jey Uso or Roman Reigns were the Tribal Chief, but Uso shouted extensively at Paul. Reigns was confused by what was going on and stared down Jey before Sami Zayn interrupted, to the crowd's delight. Zayn calmed the nerves from the Bloodline before calling Paul a clown, calling him the biggest two they had ever seen and that he will look like a giant stain on Roman Reigns' boot. Paul walked out of the ring while Reigns simmered down, with Sikoa preparing for his match against Ricochet.

Solo Sikoa vs. Ricochet.

Sikoa hit a running cross-body on Ricochet before the match. Ricochet laid in the strikes and did a back flip, but Sikao hit a slap on Ricochet. Ricochet sent Sikoa on the outside before hitting him with a Tope Suicida. Ricochet hit a springboard cross-body and a Lionsault on Sikoa for a near fall. Ricochet hit a spring rope dropkick on Sikoa sending him to the outside off the apron. Back in the ring, Ricochet sent Sikoa to the outside with a knee strike, with Sikoa throwing a tantrum outside of the ring. Sikoa slammed Ricochet's neck onto the rope before getting back in the ring and slamming Ricochet chest-first onto the corner with an Irish Whip. Ricochet sent Sikoa with an Irish Whip and attempted a springboard move, but Sikoa slapped him in the face and sent him to the outside before the commercial break. Back from the break, Sikoa slapped Ricochet and attempted the Hip Attack on Ricochet, but Richceot reversed it with a dropkick. Ricochet laid in the strikes on Sikoa before hitting him with a Hurricanrana. Ricochet hit a back flip kick, a knee strike, a superkick, and a spinning heel kick on Sikoa. Ricochet climbed to the top rope before attempting a Shooting Star Press, but Sikoa caught him and hit a Spinning Uranage on Sikoa for the pinfall win.

Winner: Solo Sikoa.

- Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso & Paul Heyman watched the match backstage. Reigns and Zayn called Jey a hothead, with Reigns saying that he did not want it to be a problem for him anymore. Reigns told Zayn that it would be his problem now, to which Zayn reacted by being bamboozled about this situation.

- After the break, Zayn & The Usos were confronted by Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston, with Kingston saying that Zayn was his boss. Zayn challenged New Day to a trios match, which they accepted. Xavier Woods told Zayn that he was not the step-father, but that he was the father that stepped up.

- Hit Row (Top Dolla, Ashante Adonis & B-Fab) were viciously attacked by three masked men & a returning Zelina Vega prior to a match. The three masked men were revealed to be none other than Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro, forming a new version of Legado Del Fantasma.

- There was a White Rabbit Vignette, with a rabbit crawling into a Purple X before being blasted with a red & orange laser. Then there was a message read in multiple languages "Tomorrow. Feed Your Head." Alluding to the arrival of the White Rabbit on Extreme Rules 2022.

Shotzi & Raquel Rodriguez vs. Sonya Deville & Xia Li

Shotzi & Deville began the match, with Deville laying in the strikes on Shotzi before hitting a running knee on Shotzi for a near fall. Li tagged in and hit an overhead chop, an elevated knee strike, and a suplex on Shotzi for a near fall. Shotzi hit a forearm strike on Deville, but Li dropped Shotzi to the mat before Deville hit a pump kick on Shotzi for a near fall. Raquel hit a double clothesline on Deville & Li, a Fall-Away Slam & a Cork-screw Elbow on Deville before she and Shotzi double-teamed Li. ,Raquel hit a Tejano Bomb on Deville for the pinfall win.

Winner: Shotzi & Raquel Rodriguez.

- There was a video package highlighting the feud between Ronda Rousey & SmackDown Women's Champion Liv Morgan, including Morgan hitting a top rope senton on Lacey Evans onto a table and a brawl between Morgan and Rousey on ringside.

- Karrion Kross & Scarlett did their extravagant entrance, but Drew McIntyre caught Kross from behind and started laying the punches on Kross. Security Guards tried to hold them apart, but McIntyre attacked every single one of the guards. Kross dragged McIntyre into the ring post three times and hit McIntyre with a leather strap on his back twice. McIntyre was in pain and agony after the attack, which brought delight to Kross & Scarlett.

- There was a video vignette of The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar) but featuring a mysterious figure speaking with them.

Sami Zayn & The Usos (Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) & Braun Strowman.

Zayn began proceedings with Woods locking up before he hit Woods with a shoulder tackle. Woods got a headlock on Zayn before he hit him with a shoulder tackle. Kingston tagged in and hit a cross-body lateral press on Zayn for a near fall. Zayn tagged Jey Uso in, but Jey was absolutely livid. Kingston hit a dropkick on Jey before Xavier sent Jimmy out of the ring too. Kingston hit a Tope Con Giro on Jey while Woods hit a middle rope dropkick on Jimmy before the commercial break. Back from the break, Jimmy laid in the punches on Kingston before Jey tagged in and laid in the stomps on Kingston. Jimmy hit a corner forearm strike on Kingston for a near fall. Zayn tagged in and kicked Kingston in the abdomen. Zayn hit a running lariat on Kingston before Jey hit a NASTY slap on Zayn's back to tag in. Jey Uso hit a back suplex on Kingston for a near fall while Wade Barrett said that he kissed some ass to make it in this business. Jimmy tagged in, but Jimmy tagged Zayn into the match. Zayn asked Jey if he wanted to tag in, which he obliged and hit an abdomen superkick on Kingston. Jey & Jimmy slammed Kingston's legs before Jey & Zayn argued in the corner. While the two were arguing, Kingston hit a double stomp on Jimmy before tagging in Strowman. Strowman hit a shoulder tackle, three corner splashes, and a chokeslam on Jimmy. Jey & Zayn were arguing before Strowman took them down while also knocking down Cole in the process. Leaving Jimmy all by himself in the ring, Kingston & Woods hit a Back breaker/ elbow drop combo on Jimmy for the pinfall win.

Winners: Brawn Strowman & The New Day (Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso).

-Maxxine Dupri caught the man formerly known as Max Dupri attacking Mansoor & Mace backstage. Maxxine implored Drake to stop the attack, calling him his SmackDown name Max Dupri, but he said to never call him again because his name was LA Knight, officially regaining his name from his time in NXT.

- Prior to the Main Event match, there was a person dressed in a White Bunny outfit behind Wade Barrett & Michael Cole on the broadcast table.

- There was a video package highlighting the feud between Sheamus & Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER ahead of their Main Event Match for the title.

Intercontinental Championship Match.

Sheamus vs. GUNTHER (c).

The two began the match exchanging strikes before GUNTHER threw a chop on Sheamus, but Sheamus responded with a lariat. Outside of the ring, Sheamus launched GUNTHER onto the barricade before the commercial break. After a White Rabbit Vignette & the commercial break, Sheamus launched GUNTHER's head into the top rope before hitting a top-rope lariat on GUNTHER. GUNTHER hit a big boot on Sheamus, but Sheamus hit a bodyslam on GUNTHER. Sheamus and GUNTHER laid in strikes on the apron before GUNTHER hit a wicked chop on Sheamus' chest and slammed him onto the ring post. GUNTHER then exposed one of the turnbuckle handles and slammed Sheamus' ribs onto the exposed handle, sending him to the outside. GUNTHER pulled Sheamus back in the ring and hit an uppercut on Sheamus. Sheamus & GUNTHER exchanged strikes, but GUNTHER evaded one of Sheamus's strikes and got him in a Sleeper hold. Sheamus got back on his feet but GUNTHER responded by hitting a wicked chop on Sheamus. Sheamus & GUNTHER exchanged strikes in the ring before GUNTHER hit a German Suplex on Sheamus before the commercial break. Back from the break, GUNTHER hit a two forearm strikes and seven chops on Sheamus, but Sheamus responded with 5 forearm strikes on GUNTHER. GUNTHER went for a sleeper, but Sheamus leaned him into the corner before laying in the strikes on GUNTHER on the corner, all while having his chest blistered because of GUNTHER's chops. Sheamus hit 30 Beats of the bell on GUNTHER's chest to the crowd's delight before hitting a corner lariat on GUNTHER. Sheamus carried GUNTHER on his back and climbed to the middle rope before hitting an Avalanche White Noise on GUNTHER for a near fall. GUNTHER hit three upkicks on Sheamus before hitting a vicious Shotgun Dropkick and a Powerbomb on Sheamus for a near fall. GUNTHER hit a knee drop and a neck twist on Sheamus' neck before hitting a top-rope Splash on Sheamus's back for a near fall. Sheamus got back up and hit an Irish Curse on GUNTHER's back before he locked GUNTHER in the Cloverleaf, but GUNTHER got a rope break. Ludwig Kaiser, Giovanni Vinci, Butch & Ridge Holland brawled on the outside, which allowed GUNTHER to hit Sheamus with a Shillelagh given to him by Vinci. After this, GUNTHER pinned Sheamus for the pinfall win. As The Brawling Brutes & IMPERIUM brawled on the outside, GUNTHER stood tall to end the broadcast.
