WWE worked a partial schedule of events heading into Royal Rumble weekend.
On Raw, Brock Lesnar made a rare appearance at a non-televised event, defeating Kane in a Universal Title match. Jason Jordan remained out of in-ring action due to his ongoing injury situation. He took part in one main event in Baltimore, but never tagged into the match pitting himself, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins against The Miz and his Miztourage. Smackdown was headlined by a cage match for the WWE Title between champion AJ Styles and challenger Kevin Owens.
Meanwhile, NXT worked a pair of events in the Northeast in the lead-up to its TakeOver event in Philadelphia the night before the Rumble.
Results from the Raw event on January 26 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and the Smackdown event on January 29 in Newark, DE, are unavailable at this time.
