WWE just wrapped up a very busy week on the road as the final build takes place for Survivor Series and NXT Takeover in Houston.
The main roster wrapped a two-week tour of Europe and most of the prominent news from week two occurred on the Smackdown brand, which shuffled its lineups after Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were sent home from the tour following the November 7 episode of Smackdown. In their absence, Shinsuke Nakamura -- who had been wrestling Owens in singles matches on the tour -- got added to WWE Title defenses by AJ Styles, in Triple Threat matches also involving recently dethroned champion Jinder Mahal. Meanwhile, Zayn had been involved in multi-man matches for Baron Corbin's U.S. Title, which got switched to one-on-one matches pitting Corbin against Sin Cara.
The final stop of the Smackdown tour saw a tease of a potential WrestleMania match between Styles and Nakamura.
Meanwhile, James Ellsworth spent the bulk of the European tour putting over the Smackdown women's division; specifically, all of the Smackdown women's wrestlers beat down Ellsworth at various spots during the European tour.
Over on Raw, Kurt Angle got back into the ring, teaming with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a six-man match in Birmingham, England. The end of the tour saw New Day make the jump from Smackdown to Raw, taking part in a series of triple threat tag matches for the Raw titles also involving the champs -- Sheamus and Cesaro -- and the Shield duo of Ambrose and Rollins.
WWE took advantage of the trip abroad to hold a tryout camp for a slew of UK- and European-based performers.
NXT had two different crews out on the road, and the tour through Phoenix, Las Vegas and California featured several matches previewing bouts planned for Takeover: Wargames on November 18 in Houston. Drew McIntyre defeated Andrade Almas in NXT Title matches at a couple of the stops, while Peyton Royce prevailed in a series of Fatal Four Ways involving Kairi Sane, Ember Moon and Nikki Cross -- all of whom will be involved in the same type of match to crown a new NXT Women's Champion in Houston. Lars Sullivan got the best of Kassius Ohno in their matchups on the tour.
