RevPro Owner Andy Quildan: Will Ospreay Is Often Around Behind The Scenes, Even If You Don’t See Him In Front Of The Camera

Before launching into stardom with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling, Will Ospreay honed his craft at Revolution Pro Wrestling.

Ospreay faced the likes of Drew McIntyre (Drew Galloway), Zack Sabre Jr, Matt Sydal, Ricochet, Pete Dunne, Jushin Thunder Liger, and more under the RevPro banner. In more recent years, Ospreay has helped produce for the promotion.

Speaking to Jeremy Lambert & Joel Pearl on Fightful’s In The Weeds, RevPro owner Andy Quildan discusses Ospreay’s willingness to give back to RevPro.

“Will is always welcome at RevPro. He will outwardly say that. He loves to give back the knowledge he’s got. That’s one of the keys with Will. He’s so passionate about pro wrestling and you don’t reach the level in pro wrestling that he’s reached unless you have a real passion, hunger, and desire. What makes Will so special is the fact that he wants to share that love, passion, and desire. He wants to pass that knowledge on. Will was able to be one of the first generations of British wrestling that was able to benefit from a very successful era before him of independent wrestlers and international talents.

“I always envisioned it would be something like this when Will was there working with Matt Sydal, (Kazuchika) Okada, AJ Styles, and guys like that. When those guys were passing their knowledge to Ospreay, I thought it would be great if one day Ospreay could be that veteran in the locker room. That’s exactly what he’s done. He feels like he has a responsibility to British wrestling to keep watering it at a grassroots level. He won’t actually be involved with this year’s shows. He’s doing a lot of stuff with Pro Wrestling EVE, the all-women’s promotion. He’s doing a lot of creative stuff with those guys. I imagine that’s where his focus will be. Will is very much part of the furniture of RevPro, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he popped by. Very often, he’s around behind the scenes even if you don’t see him in front of the camera.”

Ospreay is set to compete at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on Sunday.

RevPro will hold its two-night Anniversary event on Friday and Saturday. Fans can watch online at RevPro on Demand.
