Rey Mysterio Gearing Up For WWE Return From Groin Injury

Following a groin injury that has kept him sidelined since WWE WrestleMania 41, Rey Mysterio is now confirmed to be working his way back to WWE.

Rey Mysterio previously confirmed that he sustained a torn groin during the April 18, 2025, episode of WWE SmackDown. This injury would keep him out of WrestleMania, where he was scheduled to face the original El Grande Americano, believed to be Chad Gable. He later confirmed that he would undergo surgery for a torn adductor. He has made sporadic appearances on WWE and AAA programming since suffering his injury.

Now, Fightful Select has new information regarding his eventual return to the squared circle. A WWE source has claimed to Select that the WWE Hall of Famer is getting ready to make his comeback. Mysterio himself recently noted that he has been at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, undergoing the process of getting cleared for a return to action.

While testing his limits, Aalyah Mysterio, his daughter, stepped inside a squared circle for the first time with the intention of testing her own abilities. Fans can learn more about her experience through her father’s eyes at this link.

Fightful will continue to monitor this story and report any updates on Rey Mysterio’s condition.
