Rey Mysterio: "I Would Definitely Love To Close Out My Career With WWE"

Rey would love to come back and end it there.

Former three-time WWE World Champion Rey Mysterio has been all over the wrestling scene over the past year as he made a surprise appearance in the 2018 Royal Rumble match, worked WWE's 'Greatest Royal Rumble' PPV, made and is still making appearances for NJPW and recently competed at 'Dominion' this past June. Rey is also set to compete during the G1 Climax 28 against an unannounced opponent. "The Master Of The 619" is booked for 'All In' on September 1st and on top of that he has been working various shows on the independent wrestling scene.

Mysterio has been keeping himself busy but in interviews he never shies away from stating that he would like to return to WWE and close out his storied career there. Mysterio was present at Comic Con in his hometown of San Diego recently and was interviewed by Noelle Foley of Ringside Collectibles and stated that he would love to return to WWE to close out his 29-plus-year career.

“I think whether I come back or not Mattel should make or keep making figures of me.” Rey continued, “But yeah, it is in my agenda. I would definitely love to close out my career with WWE. With that being said, you know, I don’t have much left on my watch so, I’m thinking anywhere from three-to-five years and I really can see a possible return to WWE without a doubt.” He said. “You gotta close the chapter right so I think that’s probably the proper way to end my career.”

Rey Mysterio has won every title there is to win in WWE except for the Universal and United States Championships and he commented on the possibility of him returning to the company and capturing those titles so he can become a Grand Slam Champion.

“I think any title that has been out of my hands or out of my possession at one point in my career, its definitely something that I would strive for so, yes, why not, and also a World Heavyweight Title if I ever came back to WWE would be awesome as well.” He said.
