Rey Mysterio Named General Manager Of AAA
The new AAA General Manager is Rey Mysterio.
It had been advertised for weeks that a new General Manager of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide would be revealed on the May 23rd episode of AAA on FOX.
That announcement kicked off the 5/23 broadcast, and the news was revealed by AAA President Marisela Peña. AAA legends and current talent were in the ring and around ringside for the announcement. Peña’s son, Dorian Roldán, was in the ring as he had been lobbying to get the job.
It was then revealed by Marisela that the new AAA General Manager is Rey Mysterio. Mysterio is usually on commentary for the AAA events.
Cameras cut backstage to Rey’s son, AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio, and he was not pleased with his father being the new General Manager.
Rey Mysterio is a AAA and WWE Hall of Famer. While Rey was addressing his new position, Dorian Roldán was visibly upset in the background shot.
