Rey Mysterio Names Finn Balor As His Dream Opponent Inside Hell In A Cell

Rey Mysterio admits that he's not eager to get inside the Hell in a Cell structure, but if he were to ever do so, he would like to face Finn Balor in a dream match.

Rey Mysterio has done it all in his career. In 2006, he lasted 62 minutes and 12 seconds inside of the Royal Rumble to the right to go to WrestleMania 22 and capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He would recapture the title in 2010 and win the WWE Championship in 2011.

Mysterio has been in TLC matches, Elimination Chamber matches, I Quit matches and even a match where he was stipulated to lose his eyeball, but he has never stepped inside Hell in a Cell.

Speaking on WWE Ahora (translated by WWE), Rey Mysterio revealed that he would like to face the current NXT Champion, Finn Balor, inside of the cell.

“That's a great question. To be honest, I haven't imagined being in a match as dangerous as this one. I've imagined myself in matches that I have participated in very few times, like the TLC match, that to me is all about the height, the ladders, and looking for ways to entertain the fans and get a title. But talking about Hell in a Cell... I think I'd like to face Finn Balor. That would be historical."

He continued, “I've faced Finn Balor only once, at Survivor Series 2018. I had great chemistry with him. Since then, I haven't crossed paths with him. But if I could choose, I’d pick Finn in a Hell in a Cell match.”

Rey Mysterio currently does not have a match on tonight's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view card. Fightful will have live play-by-play coverage of the event beginning at 6 p.m. Eastern.
