Rey Mysterio Says Dominik Mysterio Felt Like He Wasn’t Fitting In At WWE When They Were Paired As Babyfaces

Dominik did not feel like he was fitting in.

Present day, Dominik Mysterio is the reigning AAA Mega Champion. He has been in his heel role since 2022, when he turned on his father and Adam Copeland a.k.a. Edge.

Before the shift in presentation, Dominik was paired with his father Rey Mysterio as babyfaces. While on The Undertaker’s Six Feet Under podcast, Rey spoke about the early stages of Dominik’s WWE run and shared that Dominik felt like he was not fitting in.

“I did feel that there was a bit of awkwardness, or maybe even a struggle, right before he became the person he became. He didn’t feel like he was fitting in being by my side, and I completely understand that. So, the best thing for him to have done is to detach from his own father, and then on top of that, embrace that character that, I guess, he envisioned in his mind, and seeing who he is now.”

Next up for Dominik is a King of the Ring tournament match against Oba Femi. Dominik is set to return to AAA on June 20th.
