Rhea Ripley Explains Why She's Wearing A Cast On Her Wrist, Gets Confronted By Becky Lynch During Interview

Rhea Ripley explains why she's wearing a cast.

Fans may have noticed that Ripley has sported a cast on her wrist for the past week. She's still wrestled at live events, even wearing the cast in her matches, but it is not slowing her down.

"It's my wrist. It's been bothering me for a while, but it's okay. it's nothing that I can't handle. In this line of work, there are always bits and pieces going on. Just fight through it," Ripley told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. "Wear and tear. Continuously on the road. Continuously having matches and doing all these things. Every now and then, something happens. You just overcome it."

Asked how long it's been bothering her, Ripley said, "It's been bothering me for a few months. I've been in this cast for maybe a week and a half. I wrestled with it at a live event and it's probably the most difficult thing that I've done. You can't move anything. It's hard. I'm wearing it to make sure things aren't worse. It's to protect me in the long run."

Ripley is scheduled to defend her WWE Women's World Championship against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40.

Lynch interrupted Ripley's interview with Helwani, leading to a pull apart between the two.
