Rhea Ripley Not Medically Cleared To Compete In Title Match At Money In The Bank, Replacement Named

Bianca Belair opened Monday Night Raw on June 20 to announce that her original opponent for Money in the Bank, Rhea Ripley, will no longer be cleared to compete. No reason was given as to why she is no longer medically cleared. News of Ripley no longer competing at Money in the Bank was first reported by our premium Fightful Select service

To determine a new challenger, a Fatal 5-Way was held to open the show and in that match, Carmela was able to defeat Liv Morgan, Becky Lynch Asuka, and Alexa Bliss to punch her ticket to the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. With the current WWE Raw Women's Champion watching on, Carmella earned herself an opportunity to potentially win the 1 championship she has not as of yet in WWE.

Carmella and Bianca do have a history with one another. Last year, Carmella faced Bianca at Money in the Bank as a replacement for Bayley and she nearly replaced Sasha Banks at SummerSlam before the return of Becky Lynch.
