Rhea Ripley: Vince McMahon Loves My Aggression, Wants Me To Smile More

Since being moved from NXT to WWE Raw full-time ahead of WrestleMania 37, fans haven't always known whether they should cheer or boo Rhea Ripley.

She was positioned as the heel against Asuka, who is beloved but is more of a babyface against Charlotte Flair, who has leaned into her heel persona.

Speaking to Graham Matthews of Bleacher Report, Ripley said she's still the same person she was in NXT.

"People just have to pick one," Ripley responded when asked who fans should cheer in her feud against Charlotte. "It's the same with Stone Cold. Was he really going out being such a nice guy? No, he wasn't, and people loved him for it, so I don't see why people are getting so angry about my feud with Charlotte and getting so confused over it when I'm pretty much doing the same thing I was doing in NXT and people loved me for it. I don't believe there should be designated faces and heels. People should go out there and do their thing and you choose whether you like that person or not."

While fans may not always love Ripley's character, Vince McMahon seems pleased with things, though he has given her some advice.

"He's [Vince McMahon] sort of been pretty happy with what I've been doing," she said. "He likes my aggression, which is something that comes to me pretty easily which I'm sort of thankful for. But one thing he says is to try to smile more, which is something I'm still trying to learn."

Ripley previously revealed that McMahon told her "well done" after her WrestleMania 37 victory over Asuka.

Ripley will defend her Raw Women's Championship against Charlotte at WWE Money in the Bank. You can view the current lineup for WWE Money in the Bank by clicking here.
