Rhea Ripley Was Asked How She Felt About Losing WWE Women’s World Title To IYO SKY And WrestleMania 41 Match Being A Triple Threat

Fans who watched WWE Unreal likely noticed the whiteboard with WrestleMania plans months before the event. On the whiteboard was Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair in a singles match.

The singles match didn’t go down at WrestleMania 41 as IYO SKY defeated Ripley on the March 3rd episode of WWE Raw to win the WWE Women’s World Title. Belair had earned her shot at the title by winning the women’s Elimination Chamber, and Ripley was added to the match by stealing the contract to make SKY vs. Belair official.

Speaking to Peter Rosenberg on Cheap Heat, Ripley was asked how she felt about the singles match turning into a triple threat.

“Hunter [Triple H] pulled me aside before my match with IYO and he’s like, ‘What do you think about it potentially being a triple threat?’ I talked with Hunter and he asked me how I felt about losing to IYO that night. I was like, ‘I’ve never beaten her, so it makes sense. If it gets her into the match, then put her over me. I don’t mind dropping the title. I just want to have a good way to get back into the match so it can be a triple threat.’ We really had to make sure that everything I do from here on out makes sense as to why I will be in there, otherwise I will get completely shit on instead of IYO. It made it hard because, of course, I want IYO to be there and be part of it, she deserves a WrestleMania match. If you’re going to build a triple threat, make it a triple threat,” she said

Rosenberg noted that after the triple threat match, and how well the match was received, Ripley probably thought everything worked out.

“It was 100% worth it,” she said.

Ripley is set to compete in another triple threat match at WWE SummerSlam when she faces Naomi and IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s World Championship.
