Ricky Saints Discusses Photo With CM Punk, Jade Cargill & Cody Rhodes; Doubts That Anyone At AEW Or WWE Cared About It

Saints doesn’t think anyone at AEW or WWE cared about the picture.

To start the month of November 2025, WWE held its Saturday Night’s Main Event special from Salt Lake City, Utah. It was at the event that Jade Cargill captured the WWE Women’s Championship and CM Punk became WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

After the show, a photo was posted of Cargill, Punk, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, and then-NXT Champion Ricky Saints. All four talents had been in AEW together, and now they’re in WWE.

Saints spoke about that photo while being interviewed by the New York Post. He said they were not trying to prove anything, and it was not deliberate. He said it was Punk who wanted the photo. Saints doubts that anyone at AEW or WWE cared about it.

“That picture was not based on us wanting to prove a point or anything. I was there to see Jade (Cargill) have her match and it just happened that I saw Punk. It was all just circumstance. It wasn’t like a deliberate thing and Punk wanted a picture, so I said, ‘Hey, why not?’ I was there with my (NXT) title because I was also taking promo pictures. It just worked out. There was no ill will about it. We all know each other, we all like each other, and it was a cool moment. Look at us, we’re all champions right now. Whatever agenda people want to apply to it is up to them. I doubt anyone really cared over there (in AEW) or over here.”

Saints is no longer the NXT Champion, but he’ll have the opportunity to regain the title when he competes in a Fatal 4-Way at the Stand & Deliver Premium Live Event on April 4th.
