Another title bout has been added to NXT TakeOver: Phoenix as Ricochet will put his North American Title on the line against Johnny Gargano.
The match was made official by NXT General Manager William Regal following the conclusion of Wednesday's episode of NXT. The seeds were planted in the rivalry between the two men on the Dec. 26 episode of NXT when Tommaso Ciampa got into Gargano's head and told him to go after the North American Title.
On the Jan. 9 episode of NXT, Ricochet had no problem obliging Gargano but wanted to make sure they did things face-to-face, not sneak attacks in the parking lot. Gargano ignored the request of Ricochet, catching the unsuspecting champion with a superkick while Ciampa and Aleister Black brawled on the entrance ramp. You can view the segment in the video above.
