Ricochet and Je'Von Evans got into a Twitter war of words on May 8th after Ricochet said he would "squash" Evans in a match. Ricochet has stated he would "squash" many opponents on social media, whether they work for AEW or outside the company.
Evans fired back by tweeting and deleting, "My Bad. I Just Got Done Training At The Performance Center, Under Shawn Michaels. Something That You Don’t Have Or Do BUT, I Bet Yo Brown Egg Head Ass Would Squash Me If Tony Told You To----Much Love OG. You Learned From HBK When I Was 12 And Became A Multiple Time Champion. Now, You’re Wrestling In Front Of 2,000 People, Every Week, For A Crackhead. Talk About An Upgrade Am I Right??"
Speaking on Battleground, Ricochet was asked about the Twitter beef.
"A lot of people seemed upset about it. A lot of people were upset," he said.
Asked why he thinks people got upset, Ricochet replied, "I think, what I'm doing is just living my life. Everybody is out to get me, but I'm finally just living my own life and everyone is getting a chance to see it."
Ricochet has said that AEW reignited his passion in the world of wrestling.
Expanding on his comments, Ricochet said, "Just being able to creatively let me flow and be myself. Being able to show the world myself, my character. AEW has allowed that. They've allowed me to go out there and try things. Whether it works or doesn't work, they let me go out there and open up creatively, which is honestly the reason we got into it. The creativeness. It's an artform that we live for. I've lived my whole life, basically, doing this. Being able to be myself is awesome. It's been great to agitate."
Ricochet is set to face Zach Gowen at AEW Dynamite Beach Break.
