Riddick Moss On Pairing With Mojo Rawley: There Was A Lot Of Miscommunication Between The Creative Team And Us

Riddick Moss reflects on his WWE main roster debut.

Riddick Moss would make his debut on the WWE main roster in February of 2020, and in his first match on WWE RAW, he would become the WWE 24/7 champion. He would debut on the main roster in a pairing with Mojo Rawley, with Mojo referring to him as his 'offensive lineman.'

While speaking to Job'd Out Wrestling at WrestleCon, Riddick Moss was asked about his main roster debut and if he looks back positively on winning a championship in his main roster debut, but it did come with some issues regarding his partnership with Mojo Rawley.

"Absolutely. I think it's absolutely worthwhile. Yeah, funny debut. There was a lot of miscommunication between the creative team and us, and Mojo called me his offensive lineman. Which we thought was like a corny football reference, but they were like, 'alright,' whatever. We'll just do what they want. Then we got backstage, and they were like, 'why'd you do the football reference?' and I'm like, 'we didn't want to. That's what you guys said.' Also, I let him get pinned on the very first moment. I was supposedly protecting his blind side, so I was not a good offensive lineman. So looking back on it, not the best debut ever in the history of wrestling, but pretty funny, and as you said, my first match ever became a champion, so I can't complain too much."

In an interview with Fightful last year, Moss spoke about Paul Heyman being a 'huge advocate' for him in WWE. You can read more about that here.
