Riho is coming home to AEW.
The inaugural All Elite Wrestling Women's Champion is officially confirmed to return to the promotion and we'll be facing NWA Women's Champion Serena Deeb in round one of the AEW Women's Eliminator Tournament.
Riho, a native of Japan, has not been featured in the promotion since March of last year, shortly before the global coronavirus pandemic forced international travel to be put on hold.
Reports of her return first surfaced in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter as Dave Meltzer reported her return could take place as soon as February. That's far, there is no official date for her match against Serena as the graphic shown on the January 27 episode of AEW Dynamite read, “coming soon.”

The tournament was the idea of somebody that Riho knows well, Kenny Omega. Kenny was recently quoted as saying that his main goal above all else is to make sure the women in AEW get more television time. Read his comment at this link.
