Rikishi Speaks On Jacob Fatu’s Booking Since WWE SummerSlam, ‘They Haven’t Booked Him With The Right People’
Rikishi comments on Jacob Fatu and his stalled momentum since losing to Solo Sikoa inside a steel cage at WWE SummerSlam.
Jacob Fatu took WWE by storm in 2024. In 2025, he captured the WWE United States Title at WWE WrestleMania. This would lead him to begin feuding with Solo Sikoa over the gold. He lost the belt to Sikoa at WWE Night of Champions 2025 and then lost to Sikoa again in a Steel Cage Match at WWE SummerSlam.
Following WWE SummerSlam, Fatu’s appearances on WWE TV temporarily declined. He was kept off the WWE Clash in Paris and WWE Wrestlepalooza cards. Now, he’s starting a rivalry with Drew McIntyre.
On the return of his “Off the Top” podcast, Rikishi Fatu commented on his nephew’s absence from TV, claiming it was like a Houdini act the way he disappeared.
“There were a lot of people saying, ‘What happened to Jacob?’ I don’t know. Jacob comes out. He’s steaming; they got everything behind him. They’re lighting this kid up on fire. Everything they threw at this kid, he came correct. He stands on business, and all of a sudden, poof, like a Houdini move.”
When talking about the new Feud with Drew McIntyre, Rikishi would just say that he hopes WWE capitalizes on it.
“Well, hey, let’s just hope they do something with it. You know what I mean? I mean, no doubt Jacob can work with anybody, absolutely anybody. You know, if it’s done right again, this kid here has got talent. We all know what type of talent he has, especially his real ones… I’ve always said this from the beginning, that if you book Jacob with the right people, you’re gonna get money out of this kid. because the thing that he does in the ring, man.
“To this day, I still don’t think that they have booked him with the right people and lit gasoline up behind him to really push this thing to make it work. You know what I mean? It’s just been just little teases. We see Jacob’s skills, we see his talent. We see his popularity is just catching on fire. But there’s still that — you can see the top of the hill, but you ain’t got over yet.”
