Rob Gronkowski is close to finalizing a deal with WWE.
According to Ryan Satin on WWE Backstage, Gronkowski is in deep discussions with WWE and could appear as early as the Mar. 20 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Tony Maglio of The Wrap reported on Wednesday morning that WWE has signed Gronkowski and he will debut on the Mar. 20 episode of WWE SmackDown. Gronkowski is also set to be part of WrestleMania 36. It is unclear what role Gronkowski will occupy, but Maglio reports that Gronkowski will be in attendance to build a match after WrestleMania and won't have a match at WrestleMania.
The former New England Patriots tight end made an appearance at WrestleMania 33, helping Mojo Rawley win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Since then, Gronkowski has been very outspoken about his desire to link up with WWE again in some capacity.
Fightful will update the report when WWE confirms Gronkowski's signing.
