Rob Gronkowski Reflects On Lisa Preventing His WrestleMania 33 Run In, ‘We Became Best Friends After That’

Rob Gronkowski helped Mojo Rawley win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33, taking out Jinder Mahal after Mahal threw a drink at him.

Gronkowski’s run in was slightly delayed as WWE security guard Lisa stopped him from jumping the barricade and getting involved in the action.

“It was so rude of [Mahal]. He came and threw a drink in front of my face. Why would he do that? I came in the ring and just clotheslined his ass. I was a big dude. My favorite was the security guard didn’t know that I was part of the show. She looked at me and grabbed me. I looked at her and said, ‘Oh shit. You don’t know.’ I know when somebody is playing a part. I knew she wasn’t tipped off. I was like, ‘Oh shit.’ I played back and was like, ‘This will be fixed, but I ain’t fighting this girl.’ I played back and was like, ‘I’m sorry.’ [Whispers] ‘I’m part of the show.’ I played it off because I didn’t want to give it away. She kind of put me back in my seat and a couple of people radioed her. She looked at me and was like, ‘Oh shit.’ Then I leveled Jinder Mahal. Wasn’t supposed to kick him in the face. Kicked him two times in the face. Got him great. Wasn’t supposed to do that, but I did it,” Gronkowski recalled on What’s Your Story with Stephanie McMahon.

Gronk continued, saying he and Lisa patched things up in the end.

“Lisa. We became best friends after that.”

Elsewhere during the interview, Gronkowski looked back on Vince McMahon not being afraid to jump off a platform for WrestleMania 36, and how that made Gronk feel. You can find his full comments here.
