Rob Van Dam Says A Concussion Has Kept Him Out Of WWE

Don't expect RVD to be back in a WWE ring any time soon, at least according to documents he's filed.

In a report from The Blast, RVD and his wife Sonya are going through divorce proceedings. He is arguing that he should pay less than what his wife is asking for because he can no longer get the kind of money he would get in the WWE. He notes that a match on November 12, 2016 at a Pacific Coast Wrestling show against Pentagon Jr. gave him a concussion that "caused visual impairment" which has "disqualified me from working for the WWE".

Included in the filings are a copy of WWE's Concussion Management Program protocol, along with a medical evaluation that confirms the concussion. He has also claimed that he has aged out of the business. RVD is 46 years old.

He says that his former wife is capable of earning her own income and has asked that judge consider his financial situation when everything is settled.

RVD last competed in the WWE back in 2014, with his last match being against Seth Rollins where he won by count out. Since then, he's competed in a number of independent promotions.
