Rob Van Dam Says Ricochet’s MS Tweet Was Horrible, But Thinks Fans Took It Too Far With Death Threats

Rob Van Dam weighs in on Ricochet’s tweet regarding a fan having MS.

A week ago, Ricochet responded to a fan with a harsh tweet that stated, “I’m glad you got MS” after the fan criticized his acting. He apologized on Tuesday, writing, “I took out my hatred for the IWC on Sandi, and inadvertently others who are effected by MS. She didnt deserve it and for that, I sincerely apologize. Moving forward I’ll do better.”

After the tweet, and Ricochet not addressing it or deleting it for over 24 hours, he and his wife Samantha Irvin received death threats, which caused Samantha to deactivate her account.

Speaking to TMZ Inside The Ring, Rob Van Dam was asked for his thoughts on the tweet.

“You guys know I have a history with the internet mark community. I think they went too far. I’m not saying I have his back, but big deal, is it that much worse than saying, ‘Fuck off and die.’ Nobody would care if he said that.

“It’s freedom of speech. What a horrible thing to say, but come on, so what. Why take it that seriously? Who even knows if he was trying to get heat, being a heel, I doubt that he really truly felt that way. I always think that you should judge by the intentions behind the words.”

Fightful Select reported that Chris Hero reached out to Ricochet regarding his tweet.

Fans can support those with MS and learn more by visiting the National MS Society.
