Rob Van Dam Shares Update On Double Heel Fracture Recovery

Rob Van Dam discusses healing from a double heel fracture.

Rob Van Dam always had a high-impact and intensely athletic wrestling style. Over the years, he’s had his share of injuries. In April 2025, he suffered a double heel fracture. Now, he’s providing an update on his recovery.

RVD recently appeared on TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast. He noted that he thought he would be back in the ring within a couple of months, but still feels that he is nowhere near ready to come back as of September. However, he does say that he feels like he’s coming closer to the end of his recovery.

“I feel like I’m between the middle and the end of it. It’s been a lot longer than I thought it would take to heal. From what I’ve learned, every calcaneus fracture is different depending on how the bones are fragmented, if they are, and if you have surgery. This was April 5 for me, so it’s been quite a while. I thought I was looking at like eight, nine weeks, and I’d be back. I’m at a point now where I can see improvement all the time, but I’m nowhere near ready to wrestle. I’m not jumping or even running yet. So, yeah, I find when I’m medicated, I feel way and walk way better than when I’m not, and sometimes that confuses my perspective of how I’m healing, too.”

Outside of the squared circle, Rob Van Dam is entering a new chapter of his life: fatherhood. He and Katie Forbes recently announced that they were expecting twins. Learn more here.
