Robbie X comments on kicking off his Battle Of The Super Juniors 2026 against Nick Wayne.
Nick Wayne is a pro wrestler who broke out in the industry at a young age, signing with AEW when he turned 18. Now being 20, Wayne has quickly developed into a TV ready professional wrestler who is no stranger to working in Japan or on the independent scene.
While speaking to NJPW in a new interview, Robbie X spoke about kicking off his Battle Of The Super Juniors tournament run against Nick Wayne on May 14th. Robbie would have praise for the young AEW name, noting that he is a ‘special character.’
“He’s a special character (laughs). I actually wrestled him in his first match in the UK, I think when he was 17 or so. He spent a lot of time in the last year out injured, but he’s still crazy young and has a lot of wrestling knowledge for someone so young. It’s an exciting start.”
Robbie also spoke about potentially winning the tournament, resulting in a championship bout with IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion DOUKI.
“Well, like I said, you’re never just facing DOUKI right now, it’s always the HOUSE OF TORTURE. The plan was to beat him in the group stages, but now he’s sneaked out of that. He always has a plan and a way to avoid losing that championship, but I have Unbound Co. as well, and it’s not just me that wants to see an end to HOUSE OF TORTURE in control of that title.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Robbie spoke about the junior heavyweight style changing. You can read more abut that here.
