Robert Stone speaks on his time as the WWE NXT general manager, noting it has been the most rewarding of his career so far.

Stone has been the NXT general manager for the past nine months, and has been involved in some of the brands top storylines as a result, as well as having fun relationships with the talent that work on the roster.

While speaking to Pro Wrestling Illustrated in a recent interview, Robert Stone discussed his time as WWE NXT general manager so far, noting that it has been the most rewarding time of his career so far.

“I mean, it’s a dream job. It really is. It’s a dream come true. You know, I worked as a- I’ve been in the industry for 26 years, did independent wrestling for almost 10 years, TNA for almost eight years, and then now with WWE for over seven years. When I look at all of that, everything in my career, I could honestly say the past seven months, well, nine months for two months, I was interim GM the past nine months of being in this role and, have been the most rewarding, the most fun. I’ve gotten to be in backstage skits with my boss, Shawn Michaels, who I idolized growing up. I got the rub and endorsement from William Regal to take over this role as the NXT general manager, who he was a past general manager, and you just look at all the GMs of the past through all the years of Raw and SmackDown, and they all are a part of history. You don’t forget someone that’s a general manager. You know, so I’m hoping that I’m going to ride this till the wheels fall off. I’m hoping this is a long lasting position that I’m in, and I hope in years and years to come, you’ll always remember that Robert Stone was the general manager of NXT and did a great job. Like, I feel like, you know, we’re just getting started.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Robert spoke about juggling wrestling and teaching during his run with TNA. You can read more about that here.
