The Rock: The Name Ava Raine Means She's Going To Lay The SmackDown On Candy Asses

The Rock continues to praise his daughter.

Simone Johnson (Ava Raine) was in the crowd scouting for talent at the July 8 NXT live event in Florida. The following night, she cut her first promo, calling herself "The Final Girl."

Raine, the daughter of The Rock, signed with WWE in February 2020.

Speaking to Kerry Washington on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, The Rock offered more praise for his daughter.

"She made her debut in WWE, their smaller federation, NXT. She did so good. She went out there on the microphone. You have to be poised when you go out there. She has a cool wrestling name, Ava Raine," he said.

When asked how the name was picked, Rock said, "It comes from all different areas. It's probably a mix of what she wanted to do, what she wanted to be called. Ultimately, what the powers that be want her to be called as well. She's the first fourth generation of pro wrestler in WWE. I always like to say that Ava Raine could mean a lot of things, but in my mind, it means she's going to lay the smackdown on candy asses."

It is unknown when Raine will make her NXT TV debut.

Asked if his other daughter have an interest in wrestling, Rock replied, "They love seeing me, it's almost a different lifetime. They are fascinated when they see old matches. They love jumping off couches and onto me. I have a six-year-old and a four-year-old and their favorite thing is putting make up on me."

It is unknown if or when The Rock will return to the ring. He, Roman Reigns, and Paul Heyman have publicly discussed the possibility of Rock facing Reigns at WrestleMania 39.

The Rock's new film "DC League of Super-Pets" is set to hit theaters on July 29.
