The Rock: The Relationship I Have With Nick Khan Helped Propel This, I Wanted To Take WWE/TKO To New Heights

The Rock made his initial return on the September 15, 2023 episode of WWE SmackDown, and then returned again at WWE Raw Day One, hinting he might be around a bit longer when he referenced Roman Reigns and the "Head of the Table."

At the end of January, Rock joined the TKO Board of Directors, and began regularly appearing on WWE TV to build WrestleMania 40.

The Rock credits his relationship with Nick Khan as a big reason why he got involved with WWE on a larger scale.

"I was excited to work with [Nick Khan], Ari and Mark Shapiro to help expand the WWE/TKO business to new heights," The Rock told Marc Raimondi & Andrew Feldman of ESPN. "That relationship that I have with Nick has certainly helped propel a lot of this forward. Even though things didn't work out philosophically for us to get the deal done for WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium, that allowed this incredible opportunity for Cody Rhodes to come in. And as we are feeling and sensing and hearing from his passionate fans ... what an incredible opportunity for him.

Nick's an excellent leader, astute businessman and sharp dealmaker because he's an innovative collaborator, big-picture thinker, and has the capacity to recognize epic, disruptive opportunities for brand-building."
