The Rock: Training For Wrestling Requires Respect For The Sport, I Have To Prepare The Right Way

The Rock comments on wrestling at WrestleMania 40.

The Rock hasn't officially been announced as wrestling at WrestleMania 40, but all signs are indicating that he'll step in the ring for his first official advertised match in over a decade.

Speaking to E! News, Rock commented that his two younger daughters are excited to see him step in the ring for the first time.

"Their mouths are on the floor. This is an indication of their DNA: They don't cry. They're not like, 'I don't want to see this,'" he said.

Rock's oldest daughter, Simone, can currently be seen on NXT TV as Ava. She is the NXT General Manager.

Speaking about his in-ring return, Rock said, "The type of training with professional wrestling—unlike stunts, unlike weight training—requires a respect for the sport. I gotta prepare in the right way. I don't want to get my a-- kicked too bad."

Rock seemed to be headed for a showdown with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, but Cody Rhodes decided he was going to face Reigns in the main event.

Triple H confirmed that Reigns and Cody will battle for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, leaving Rock, who is now siding with Reigns, without an opponent.

Rock will be part of Friday's WWE SmackDown.
