Rocky Romero joins another faction.
CMLL hosted a new edition of their weekly show "Viernes Espectacular" from Arena Mexico on May 16, 2025. The event featured Rocky Romero teaming with Los Depredadores (Magnus, Rugido & Volador Jr.) facing the team of Tecnicos consisting of Esfinge, Flip Gordon, Star Jr. & Templario.
Despite the Tecnicos' best efforts, Rugido carried his team to the victory after laying out Star Jr. & Esfinge in two consecutive falls. Rugido then challenged Esfinge to a match for his CMLL National Light Heavyweight Championship next week, which was accepted by Esfinge. While the match itself has not been made official by CMLL, Depredadores did make something official: a new member.
After Romero & Los Depredadores laid out the Tecnicos, Volador Jr. grabbed the microphone and told Romero that he owed him a favor after Romero asked Volador Jr. to team with him on the 2025 edition of the event "Homenaje a Dos Leyendas". The favor in question was joining Los Depredadores, which Romero happily accepted.
Romero is also part of The Don Callis Family alongside Mark Davis, Trent Berretta, Lance Archer, Konosuke Takeshita, Brian Cage, and Kyle Fletcher in AEW. Romero is also set to team with Trent Beretta & Lance Archer against the team of Brody King, NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion Tomohiro Ishii, and ROH World Champion Bandido. Fightful will have the results for the show.
